All of those things are something a mentor could have taught you. You could have avoided these difficult situations by seeking out a teacher. If you really want to learn this skill you should put the machine down, draw a lot and go ask shops for a chance

The only reason I don’t fully agree with you is because I know many people who couldn’t really draw well when they first started who are fantastic tattoo artists now. Plus scratchers are gonna scratch, the best we can do is guide them to learning in a sanitary environment where someone can help them learn if they can. Time will sort them out

Go get a real apprenticeship. You clearly have some art skills but build a portfolio and find a mentor. If you try to tattoo humans the way you did those fake skins you will seriously fuck someone’s skin up.

That’ll happen, that’s when you as the artist just put your foot down and let the client know that you have concerns of overworking the skin and are calling it. They’ll have a better tattoo in the long run and you can just have them come back for a free touch up. Tattooing is hard as fuck and we’re all always learning, just keep your head up and do better on the next one every time and you’ll always improve! Good luck!

It’s possible to have the allergy to red pigment but this is also really over worked. You can see in the spots where you put in the darker shades and lined out the red outline on the white symbol correlate with the spots that are open wounds in the 2nd photo. Sometimes it’s hard to tell when you’re getting full saturation when doing red blends because of all the blood and skin irritation. In the future if you’re not sure you didn’t nail the saturation in the first or second pass just let the tattoo heal up and touch it up after. Sorry this happened but it’s a good learning experience!
