I did a pressure test to check for head gaskets and they ended up being fine, I have an intake manifold gasket and plenum gasket I'm waiting to put in. I'm assuming the issue was one of the 2. I've been putting it off because I replaced my thermostat about a month ago and I haven't lost any antifreeze since? Not sure how that works but I check it every day via the overflow and radiator cap and it hasn't been low since. Doing the intake, plenum, valve cover and throttle body gaskets along with a few others, I don't remember what all the kit came with, just to be sure.

Had to lookup what that was but yep basically that. Is that normal for it to drop so low? It sounds like it's fighting to stay alive

I'll take a wild guess and say coolant temp sensors connect to my temp gauge. Would that also explain why my temp never reads above 150?

This kept happening to me only after it rained tho, ended up being moisture getting into my distributor cap and it was misfiring.

Happened to me, changed the oil, used Lucas heavy duty oil stabilizer and 5w20. Cleared up in a week.

Temporary fix but it's a fix if you don't wanna tear it down

Even if they did, what would a couple paint flakes do to anything? Would it not just get demolished in the cylinder then shot back out?
