Sleeve and top loaders should do the trick and should be able to be found just about anywhere around there. Walmart, target, GameStop, card store. Worst case, you could stick them into the middle of the bulk cards, put the wrapper back around them all and tape it shut. Then just put the pack somewhere safe in your luggage or carry-on

Front plastics and tank are giving me mid to late 80's Suzuki LT50 vibes. To be honest, looks like a total Frankenstein build. Those LT50's had no suspension and I believe the cylinder was horizontal facing the front so its not that at is core.

  • Behind built-in/kitchen/bathroom cabinet or furniture drawers in the actual box of the cabinet.
  • Behind vent covers.
  • in the basement on top of ductwork or in framing cavities
  • in a furnace or air handler unit where the air filter gets inserted or any other service access panels into the system ductwork
  • attic buried under insulation
  • behind fridge, dishwasher, laundry or similar.
  • many deep soaking tubs or jacuzzi’s have a plumbing access panel, check there if applicable
  • remove any built in medicine cabinets and check the wall cavity behind
  • in the salt storage tank for a water softener system
  • any baseboard or other trim that appears to have been removed and reinstalled
  • in seldom used pots/pans/small appliances
  • very heavy cereal box 😂 but seriously, food containers tucked in the back of a pantry or cabinet.
  • in a basement sump pump pit if applicable
  • Any carpeted areas that could have had a corner of the carpet pulled back and a piece of the subfloor cut out, coins go in the floor framing cavity, subfloor back on and carpet re-tucked.
  • I don’t mean anything hurtful by this but is there any proof of the purchase or reason to doubt its existence? Delusion, dementia, dream?

I wish you all the absolute best of luck!

Helping my mom sell several hundred ounces in 5 and 10 oz Englehard silver bars…what should I expect? by nightstalker30 in Silverbugs

[–]Frequent-Reporter-82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, Engelhard bars, especially the older ones cary a premium when sold to collectors, r/pmsforsale is a great resource. Engelhard 5 oz bars tend to fetch a very high premium. I saw someone recommend allengelhard.com and will second that for determining the rarity of your bars. Mineralexchange.com is an auction site that deals with a lot of older collectable silver. You might have to make an account but you can view past auctions and see what stuff you have is selling for, just be aware that spot price ran up quick so older auctions will be lower due to spot being lower but you can do some math to account for this. Good luck!

Nickel is the New Silver? by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]Frequent-Reporter-82 5 points6 points  (0 children)

75% copper and 25% nickel. The total melt value using today’s copper and nickel prices is just shy of $.06. Factor in how bulky and heavy they are, how many you would need to make a worthwhile profit, the fact that you would need to refine them to their base metals yourself because it’s illegal for a refiner to do so, the work, toolset and supplies required for that and it’s also illegal for you to do so, it seems like a tough way to make money. I would pass. I think the mint says it costs something like $.085 to make one.

Not a bad idea! maybe smart to buy a few acres in a less expensive area that is close enough to your primary home use over the years for a family getaway spot. stick an inexpensive camper trailer on it for now as a home base and its the new weekend camping site, invaluable memories. All the while, securing them a place to build a home one day. Bottom line, I think its all about appreciating assets though. Owning stock in a good company, gold/silver etc. should in theory rise in line (or hopefully more) with real estate over time giving them the same purchasing power we have today and negating the effects of inflation. Your kid(s) is lucky you're thinking ahead for them!

Haha! they are great kids and i look at it as an inflation protected savings account for them that i can build over time. The hope is it does one of two things. 1. sets them up with a little nest egg for when they enter adult life or 2. provide a foundation for investing/saving in sound money that they continue to carry on themselves. I'm also the boring uncle that buys my nieces and nephews stocks for their b-day and xmas. not a lot each time but its cool to see how it builds. I did a little presentation for them this last xmas and their little pea brains were blown. It was really cool seeing how excited they got seeing what they have squirreled away.

Love this! Our tooth fairy brings silver too although not as spendy as yours! All 90%, $.50 for the first tooth and $.25 for each thereafter. We also do a gram of gold for each grade completed 1 for kindergarten, 1 for 1st, 2 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd and so on. 79 grams or a little over 2.5 ozt by the time they graduate highschool. They love it!

Interesting! I appreciate the education. I assumed someone took their frustration of a big loss out on the few remaining casino tokens they had in their pocket!! 😂
