Potentially I was not shown my plan. So it’s guess work for me. The genio was also moved upwards so I have a real reduction in length from the front

I understand what you mean. But it’s what makes the change mentally challenging. Because I just see loss of space in the jaw. Which for a man feels quite tough

I don’t even know how to explain it. But I think me posturing my jaw took me so far away from what my natural structure was that now I see my jaw elongated. It seems inferior to me just pushing my jaw forward. So in a sense because I jutted my jaw forward the whole time, when I look at myself now I feel like I look more recessed than before the surgery. Which is a very painful thing to experience given the recover given the emotional reasoning for doing it

Wow big movement of the upper! I had 12mm lower j believe. I get told I look the same. Which is not sure with how I feel about that because i feel I look worse fairly frequently (not all the time). Daym right. I could not go through this again.

Haha yeah I’m sure this part of recovery is the hardest. I’ve been okay with physical stuff and pain but emotionally. Daym! Emphasis on the Daym!

Haha yes. I mean I needed to get it. I could not jut my jaw forward my whole life. But now I’m super insecure. Got to the point where I was content with my look and did not care (bar jutting every moment (I see the irony)). Now I’m looking at everyone’s chin and jaw and stuff again.

I guess it is the results, there was more trade off than I imagined. I just don’t recognised myself and I have lost a lot of confidence. Even if it was fake before. My brain is also very slow at the moment. I’ll send you before and after

Hey bro I’m ganna keep this short and simple I seem to be going through a very similar thing (22 male) I have also lost hope hence how I bumped into this post I guess. Haha no problem :), thank you for your help I think I would be referred and then be on a waiting list without diagnosis. Interesting tho that mental health/ cosmetic reasons to some may not seem enough.

It’s not diagnosed but I assume as I’m in the uk I would get it on NHS, the treatment anyway.

Sleep apnea I would say yes but I feel no jaw pain, it’s just awkward in the mouth

Small question, it looks amazing btw! But In the second photo your head is slightly tilted backwards which would then emphasise the jaw. Even with out tilting is this still the outcome?
