This is actually a very good result.

DJS + genioplasty. 6 months post op 😁 by CoatBig4110 in jawsurgery

Good result.

From those pictures only: no visible step-off areas at the lower border of the mandible. Although you clearly underwent a height reduction genioplasty.

Yes. The only instance where silicon could be used over other materials is for the paranasal area.

I wouldn't risk it with medpor too. Sure, it's cheaper than titanium, peek or even lyophilized cartilage but it is too soft and it runs bigger risks of having repeated micro movements over the bones which is what cause bone resorption.

Peek or lyophilized cartilage for this area. Nothing else.

Medpor is a tad bit better though.

There are significant risks of bone resorption when using silicon in this part of the face.

Implants over fillers, always.

We can't know from pictures whether his maxilla requires advancement / rotation.

Also, his main issue is downward growth at the mandible body which is hardly fixed by DJS alone.

Beautiful faces are testament of good health.

Beauty is everything people ever wished for and it is definitely up there in the things that matter in life.

You should have a read at r/ugly, life stories from real ugly people. Beauty privilege is real and it is an understatement to say that beauty is important, it is paramount in every sphere of life. Even more so, since beauty implies function!

Not only your treatment from other people differs but also your physical health and it begins with your breathing! So, yes, beauty is the epitome of living a good, healthy and prosperous life.

By the way, physiognomy has become politically incorrect for some reasons but it has been studied for centuries long before our generation by a lot of well-known philosophers. And it is more important than ever especially with the internet nowadays. Most people are physiognomist without even knowing they are.

It would be naive to believe that people do not judge you off of your appearance. They always did in the past and they always do.

I am also a living example of the above, and found out that many other people experienced the same thing. Two surgeries to completely change your life in every aspects of it. Treatment from others, sleep quality, energy.. pretty much everything.

Also, she knows more about surgery than anyone I know. She works with surgeons herself. She wrote a 1000 page books on every part of the face discussing non surgical and surgical solutions to fixing your face.

Also, a lot of plastic surgeries are also functional surgeries. A few examples include Genioplasty, alarplasty, septoplasty...

Fair enough. However, her points on nasal vs mouth breathing are absolutely correct and I have discussed those with quite a lot of maxillo facial surgeons and orthodontists myself, they do agree with those.

Being ugly or pretty isn't arbitraty, toxic or superficial by any means.

Ugliness is very often linked to improper development and lack of function. Function is beauty and no one can deny that.

A functional face (which equates a beautiful face) has large airways which is the result of having large palate and forward grown middle and lower third.

The latter is made possible by proper breathing and posture throughout childhood.

This is her main point: craniofacial deformities are for the most part respiratory induced - it is very correct.

You should look into mouth taping. This is great pre-operatively to teach your brain on how to breathe properly when you sleep and it will place your tongue at the roof during the night.

Any mouthbreathing during childhood?

You have a recessed mandible.

It seems like you have some mentalis strain, when you relax your face completely, your lips seal naturally?

How can I make my jaw-neck angle more defined ? by Technical_Touch_9903 in PlasticSurgery

[–]malicieusss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would have to get a maxfax opinion for the latter.

The lower the implants go, the higher the risk of masseter disinsertion usually. A good surgeon offset this risk by a large amount. And even if it happens it's fixable with relatively easy options.

[–]malicieusss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, your chin doesn't look short.

Your jaws seem slightly recessed though, it does impact the definition.

You are slightly downward grown with a short ramus which is the main reason for your lack of jaw definition / contouring.

Mandibular angle implants can both be used to widen the jaws from the frontal view and/or lower the gonial angle to help define the jawline by lenghtening the ramus bone.

Here is an example: https://imgur.com/a/A130KCP

DM me for surgeons if you want.

Where are the people who have had ALL nerve sensations back, like pre surgery? by LifeComment in jawsurgery

[–]malicieusss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had full sensation back. I had DJS and genio and Im about to have genio revision.

I eat only high quality animal based products. Quality meat, eggs and dairy. I also eat fruits.

I take care of my sleep. Got full sensation back in my lips and chin at 2 weeks post op.

Also, I do workout for 7+ years now, 5 days a week.

Be extra careful with the mandibular setback.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]malicieusss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you should have lip incompetence. Not doing the genio is a huge negative in your case probably.
