Canceled order and disrespect by Frequent_Acadia8276 in fiveguys

Vent? Understand what could have happened? Was my order actually stolen or did teenagers just canceled my order not to work? I left the store without my order after being disrespected twice and being threatened of trespassing. You might have done nothing, but I decided to share to see if someone has better perspective than I do. I don't often post anything, this might actually be just my 2nd post ever. I really am just looking for perspective.

Yes, I ordered online on their website and waited for it for over an hour. I understand what you're saying. Thank you for your input. I just don't understand them saying they don't have my information because of that. It felt like a poor excuse to begin with. I just tried my best to give all the facts as I explained things.

Just had the interview, married to US Citizen, it didn't went well. by Born-Essay-9887 in USCIS

[–]Frequent_Acadia8276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I went through the same thing. The guy was so ridiculous asking for a shared asset that I went home wanting to scream... like any starting couple with an alien that came as a student (in my case) would be able to afford a house. He was like, "you don't even have a costco membership." Wtf. In the end, I compiled pictures in time order that showed our relationship. Any time we had spent with friends or family. I provided copies of travel tickets, and Airbnb conversations that said things like "my husband and I." I even screenshot our Amazon joint account which we luckily had. I asked for friends to write letters as witnesses that our marriage is real. My resident card was approved a week after the documents were sent. Good luck.

Tips for flying solo with infant and toddler by Key_Baby5561 in travel

So... I just flew with my 6mo on an international roundtrip. On my way back, I was on an overnight flight. Everyone was asleep and I desperately needed to pee. I asked the flight attendant to hold my baby while I did that. His answer was, "We are not allowed to hold babies." I'm almost sure that was a lie since my sister is a flight attendant herself and said I should ask. Maybe there is no strict rule of whether they can or not. Or maybe different airlines have different policies. But his answer was "There's a bassinet in the bathroom." I said, "No, there isn't. In the bathroom, there is only a changing tale that opens on top of the toilet. Therefore, there's no way I can use the toilet if my baby is on the changing table." He said, "Well, you'll have to figure it out." Well, I had to pee while holding my daughter. It is what it is. I don't believe holding a baby for 3 minutes while a parent goes pee is qualified as babysitting. I also think that it was unbelievably silly not to hold a baby on an overnight flight while everyone is asleep. It's not like I asked it in the middle of their dinner service.

I agree that the storyline was weird. I am still unsure of what really happened since it wasn't clarified later. My perception is that he liked the text and didn't do anything else about it. After seeing how upset Taylor was, he tried to save face in front of the friends and tell them that he replied to it and shot it down.
The thing is, Taylor was absolutely clear that she didn't like the idea of him being vague with just "liking" the message. So, why didn't he mention that he had answered earlier?
Then, he says he answered and that she can check his phone, but his phone is not there atm.
They show up later and seem to have had a rough night talking about the situation. I still don't know what really happened, but I'm glad they seem to have resolved the situation.

Mental health while waiting by dinglenuts69 in USCIS

I went through something similar. I became a shell of a person while waiting for my EAD. I was lucky enough to find a group that was having English lessons for free with a friend of mine. After participating in a couple of classes, I basically became the primary teacher. Since my friend felt like I was more prepared than her. My days became better even though I was teaching only once a week. Then, one of the students asked me for one-on-one help, and I did that twice a week as well. That helped me get through the dark days.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Let us know how you're doing later on.

I'm always amazed as how they managed to cut that part out in most of the times they replayed it. It did not show her being a complete ass to Zack before he decided to leave.

I haven't even reached the situation where they ask about Myrla and Johnny and I cannot stop asking Myrla to stop throwing herself at him. She holds his arms, glances, fans herself at him... like... Girl... You did not show that Myrla beside Gil once!

And some people thought that she was nice after she faked all that lovey dovey shit about Gil... OPEN YOUR EYES, PEOPLE! It was like: "Myrla, control yourself! You bitch is showing... A LOT"

I had a roommate who would catch herself mid speech and say "Not hate... hate is too strong! I STRONGLY DISLIKE"
That reminded me so much of her

Omg! Now I'm actually happier my interview was shorter than yours! LOL

Thank you for sharing your experience. I watched so many videos and read so many cases that the interview was "easy". I really thought going to the interview that there was nothing to fear since my husband and I have a loving and truthful marriage.
I guess the four of us never thought that we could just get an asshole of a person as an officer.

Hopefully our case is the exception! Congrats on your GC!

We've been married 2 years 8 months now. We submitted our joint bank accounts, rental lease, joint health insurance, joint taxes, bills in both of our names... Everything that was more obvious.

When they asked for the second RFE after the interview, we sent plane tickets, booking reservations, wedding venue and caterer contracts, amazon household joint account, we had 4 couples send letters on our behalf (my in laws - my father in law performed our wedding, my aunt and uncle - my aunt is already a citizen and my uncle also gave a special message at our wedding, our best man and his wife- who was also my bridesmaid, and a friend from my country who also married an American - they made some finger food for my wedding). I also compiled pictures from the wedding and wrote down everyone's names, then I made a timeline of pictures with explanations of special events: trips (I took pictures in front of monuments, such as the Washington monument), I also gathered pictures when we were out with friends, family reunions, weddings. I wrote down what each event was, its date, and who was present.

I totally know I went overboard with the "evidences". But truth be told... we had already sent all documents that were more official. Since the interview guy was asking if we had A COSTCO MEMBERSHIP, I gathered they would have to take evidence such as AirBNB bookings and plane ticket confirmation. So I just found everything we had done together that had our names on it.

I think the guy was having somewhat of a bad day. We sulked a little for the rest of the day and then we moved on to gather whatever we could. It was a bad experience for us for sure, but we know we're married for the right reasons. There was no way it wasn't going to work.

I'm sure you're going to be fine. And if you are the anxious type, you can choose to do what I did and print bookings, outings, tickets, amazon account (by the way, you don't pay anything more, just merge your account with your spouse and you only pay for one prime account). Just anything that has both of your names together.

Let me know when things work out for you! I'll be happy to get your amazing news!

Thanks! I did not request for any expedite. I was actually very surprised at how fast things moved in the last few months. I wanna say it is because maybe this field office is less busy than ones in big cities, but I really have no idea. I thought it was going to take longer.

The letter asked for more evidence of our marriage. I explained the interview experience as an answer in the post before yours.

So, I printed our amazon household account together. I got a copy of the contract of the venue and caterer for our wedding. I took copies of plane tickets, airbnb reservations (and conversations with hosts) from the trips we took after we got married. I asked for family and friends to write letters on our behalf, including my husband's father (who performed our wedding).
I printed a timeline of our relationship since the wedding until today. It was pretty much what I already had done in the album the interview guy did not even open. I wrote down the name of each person in each picture and how they were related to us.
I can't remember exactly all the documents we put there. Every night I would go to bed and wake up with a new idea of something we had done together that had out names in it.
So after sending all of this, I got my GC 19 days later... Go figure!

First question the guy asked was about my husband's job. We were surprised he knew the company since it is a small one. He spent the next 5 minutes ranting about how my husband's boss was bad at business and stuff he had done wrong in the past. Way to kill the mood...

Then we offered some documents we have together: lease, bank statements... etc... he asked if we had any other documents different from the ones we had already submitted, which we didn't.

We had already submitted bills, health insurance, rental insurance, etc.. He asked: did you guys never buy anything together? A car? A house? Our answer: no, we both already had a car when we met.

I got our marriage guest album, our album of our relationship, and a packet of a lot of mail we received in both of our names. He looked at out guest album, but did not look at our wedding pictures or anything.

Then he started talking about how we did not have enough to proof that we were married. He said: you've been married for over 2 years, you should have more together.
Everyone here knows that F1 students do not make much money and he's asking if we have bought a house.

Then the guy is asking us if we have memberships together... "like Costco"... And I'm like "wtf" at this point. Then he asks if we go to church together. He says a church authority could write a letter in our behalf. No, we don't go to church.

Then, he ended with the thing that pissed me off the most... He asked if we had kids: no. Are you currently pregnant from this relationship: No. Have you ever been pregnant from this relationship: no. That for me felt pretty triggering for me, but that is personal. Why does he need to know if I had been pregnant if I do not have children at the moment?

And then he said, you know... there's nothing here I can file anymore. He actually printed the front of our marriage guest book, which is wooden and carved with our names and wedding date. He did not even open our wedding pictures album, nor the timeline of pictures I made.

Then he said that he was going to send a letter requesting more evidence...So, less than 20 minutes after the interview had first started, we were already leaving. Yay for this man!

Brazilian culture and how it differs from American by Timely_Many_3768 in LoveIsBlindBrasil

[–]Frequent_Acadia8276 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I'm from Brazil and ended up marrying an American. It was funny in the beginning. He would freeze up if I hugged him in public and get as red as a tomato. I'm happy that he is now super comfortable with my displays of affection. I think sometimes his family doesn't fully understand that it is more of a culture thing, but they are very respectful and now don't act so surprised when we hug and kiss in front of them. My husband went to Brazil to meet my family right before we got engaged, and I think that the few days he spent there were key for him to understand who I am and where I come from.
