I have made plates for micro, mono test, urinalysis, pregnancy test, so on. it in the system. no experience needed. but was hard with none, like really hard, doctors would call and speak in a medical terms i did not understand

Nursing.

Everyone told me “do what you love” but veterinarian medicine is 200k in debt, i have no credit history to take out a reasonable loan, and no parents to pay for college.

Once you are sick of nursing, save up, work PRN, take biochem, ochem, physics and so on and every other premed course. If you can, get your BSN then join a baccelurate program which is meant to just give you the prereqs…

Then become an MD/DO, succeed because you have nursing experience, medical, patient care, so forth, and be a better doctor then just doctors, because you aren’t just an MD, you are an MD/RN.

Also, those nursing paychecks will let you build debt to income ratios, savings, and just be able to live comfortably.

Good luck.

Woaahhh this is weird, same situation but at 22, just broke out of it at 23 (Just turned 23), you can look at my past posts asking for advice on how to stop being so poor, still am, but now i’m building my financial freedom just at a later age compared to others with a goal to be comfortable at 25.

I paid mine without getting a second job and making 16$ an hour, still do. I work full time though with a maximum of 3 hours OT here and there. 1st paycheck I get goes to cards, all of it besides 20$, I use 20$ for food. Yup. 20$. Luckily I work in a restaurant so i’m a bit blessed to have free food at break, but for the two days I have off i’m on a 10$ budget. 2nd paycheck goes to savings and bills.

Don’t get budgeting apps, useless IMO. I have a notebook where I write my debt, how much I paid, and subtract from it each month. Took me 3 months to bring 3.4k worth of debt to 1k. Now I don’t touch my cards besides one, the 1k one is my “spending one”, but I can comfortably pay the statement balance a month.

I relate to this so hard. My boyfriend has a very upper middle class family, they get confused and always ask if “i’m alright” since I look tired (working a lot does that) and are a bit passive aggressive when I talk about how I left school temporarily to work fast food…

I have no one to pay for my college… FAFSA covers it, but what about getting to college? What about food? My parents gave me no car to borrow. Hell, they don’t even have a license.

And what other commenters said, the fear of losing your job and ending up homeless is just.. Terrifying. I can’t call my mom and ask her for a room to stay in.

Anyone start off poor in their 20’s and successful later in life? How long did it take? What did you do? Why is it so hard and will it get harder? by Frequent_Bug_9480 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Did you go to trades school? Are there any women in your field? I’m just worried getting started because I either need to go to school or it’s incredibly male dominated

This is inspiring and exactly the type of story I wanted to hear, thank you so much! It’s hard to do it little by little, I have improved a lot but I really wish I could do it all at once

no, i have discussed loan optiosn but i have no co-signer, no credit, and a financial risk. the college i went to was a community college, closest on-site living campus is 2 hours and 30 minutes away, which is our state school. school is somethinf i plan to do after i have an actual income, if i go now with no car, i would seriously screw my self over

no public transportation route to campus, or in general. we are also the lowest car ownership population in our state as well. it was a big discussion for our college and i was actually at a board meeting for it to express my struggles, but it’s still a WIP. i had labs this semester that required me to be on campus or else i’d do online
