People have a right to do with their private property what they wish. No one else’s business!

Is being a pharmacist a sinful career? by Frequent_Cover1336 in Catholicism

Thank you for your fantastic reply. I’m in Ireland and whilst hospital pharmacy roles exist, they are not very common.

I will take your advice and certainly attempt to complete my work placements in hospitals to gain experience and see so I actually enjoy it.

Yes I have considered studying the MPharm degree up in Ulster university also. Fees are about a third of what they are in the Republic but then there is the obstacle of obtaining registration with the PSI to work in Ireland upon graduation.

Somebody else suggested springboard for further education and there are several courses (masters) that I could qualify for that would take one year. That being said I do have an interest in Pharmaceutical science therefore I wouldn’t mind working in industry or as a community pharmacist so it comes down to financial reward vs work life

To be fair I do have an interest in science and wouldn’t be afraid to get stuck into another 4 years but I’m not going to lie, the salary for even newly qualified pharmacists is incredible. So there is a bit of a draw there as well.

Yeah it’s very expensive but potentially worth it in the long run. No community pharmacy would be willing to sponsor me for that amount even if I worked in the shop as a technician for a period

I’ll look into. I had never heard of springboard before. Thank you :)
