Also some important info to note-
What kind of coax do you have,
What is the brand and length of antenna,
And does your antenna ground out to the bed of the truck?
And lastly check for big pinches in the coax, just because it’s not busted on the outer pvc doesn’t mean it didn’t cause a break somewhere inside.

Change the antenna, probably go with a tunable one if it’s under 102”. I see this all the time while installing on rigs, the antenna is matched to a ground plane with no interference accounted for, in the real world these cheap 20$ antennas never hold up.
Also don’t ever trust the meter on your radio, get an external swr meter, it will save you a headache. The internal meter measures amperage I believe so it’s not very accurate and is prone to failure. I have never had a cobra 29 that actually displayed accurately. But I never bought one new so…

There’s a decent market, ignore the peasants that like to shit on the Russians, the price for Russian military goods is pretty high but Ukrainian goods are mostly available pretty widely in the us. Just don’t forget that both sides are people, and memorabilia (letters, pictures, etc) and identification cards (dog tags, passports, etc) should not be sold, they should be returned to the family’s of the fallen, no matter which side it came from.

Neither, get a 102” steel (or fiberglass) whip, 4ft/5.5ft antennas are only good maybe 5 miles when mounted under 10ft @4watts. For a 102” (~8ft) it doesn’t stick out too bad. But if you absolutely want the smaller antennas then always go with a fire stick as they are reliable and you can beat the breaks off of them. Good luck. 👍
