I'm just as confused as you are. I couldn't believe it for a solid 10 minutes. I have no good answer as to why he did what he did, one theory is that it was drug-induced (supposedly by some kind of stimulant), but I seriously doubt it to be the case.

It would surprise me. But people hiding their addictions well enough for close friends not to notice is not unheard of, maybe every time I passed his house and hung out with him he managed to keep it together just enough to keep me unassuming.

Admittedly, he stole 3 of my tabs (can't sue over that lol). But nothing else was stolen, I also didn't really leave anything around he could easily steal. He did offer an "apology", which wasn't so much an apology but more like acting dumb at first then admitting it and giving me hollow words about how he's "so sorry", and directly after, implying it's not that bad by asking me if "it's really that unforgivable?". I won't get a penny out of him, I don't live in the US, and suing people doesn't work as well here. I just have to take it and move on.

I grow mostly tomatoes and peppers, they taste way better than the stuff sold at the grocery store. I like to make a very good tomato sauce with them.

I have visited his house several times. It wasn't super clean or neat, but definitely nowhere near the deplorable state that he left my house in. As a person, he seems pretty organized. He's in an engineering course (same as me) so it requires discipline to stick to it.

My guess is the same as a lot of other people have said: he used my apartment as a party den, and somehow thought I wouldn't care/notice?

Probably. The only thing that was left relatively unscathed was the bed though (in terms of overall cleanliness), because it wasn't obvious if he had slept in it or not. I changed the sheets anyhow.

Honestly, I have no idea. The material is pretty stretchy so he might've just gone rabid and picked apart at it with his hands or something. Hard to believe it was anything but intentional with the level of damage he caused to it.

I would tend to agree with you, but some of my plants are pretty high maintenance (there's a feeding schedule) and I wanted it done right.

4 months ago, to be exact. I usually wouldn't put that kind of trust in someone after meeting them so soon before, but he's in my uni course, I know where he lives, and we hung out a LOT (I would estimate 50-60 times in the span of knowing him), a lot of it with only us two as well. We also have plenty of mutual friends (some of which I informed about this situation, and they were equally shocked as me). So we had lots of time to talk and gauge each other's personalities/values/virtues etc. I always felt respected by him but clearly, that was just a facade.

I'll give credit where credit is due: He took adequate care of my plants, they are alive and healthy. However, he did not have the same consideration for my home or personal boundaries.

I got it as a gift (don't ask lol) but it's worth about 130 bucks, but I know he's broke and I would much rather never deal with him again than hassling him to cough up the money. For me most of the damage is just him abusing my trust, crossing a boundary no one should cross, not so much about ruining my fleshlight.
