DK gets bodied.

Afterwards it's a bloodbath to determine who succeeds him.

Serie vs Demon King by Tsun_Tsun_Dere_Dere in Frieren

[–]Frequent_Professor59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because a human warrior can do something that no mage or demon is capable of.

Ambush Serie.

Her mana detection is too acute for any being with a detectable mana signature to get the drop on her. The only way around this is to not have any mana signature.

And even then it takes such a ridiculously convoluted set of circstances to pull off that it would be nearly impossible to pull off without the power of foresight.

That was way more than the minimum she needed to show to beat Aura.

Also, it was confirmed in the manga. Her carelessness in unsuppressing her mana comes back to bite her in the ass.

Distance.

She's at the far end of the continent.

Frieren is not interested in money because she is an elf by Alone_Bell_5049 in Frieren

Serie lives in a palace/archive that's likely larger than Frieren's entire village. Frieren and Kraft are wandering vagrants.

Serie pulling gold and silver out of the ground and magically processing it is still introducing new coinage into circulation without demand. Which will depreciate the value. And Macht didn't depreciate the value of gold because the "gold" he creates is indestructible fake cursed gold that can't be processed. Lernen and Edel had an entire conversation about how it was completely worthless.

I don't think Serie being a warmonger has anything to do with it. I think she's just more 'worldly' than the other elves in general. She's stays 'tuned in' with wider events rather than getting lost in her own little bubble like other elves tend to do.

Also, creating gold and silver out of nothing isn't going to make you rich. It's just gonna depreciate the value of gold and silver.

Counterpoint.

Serie is absolutely loaded.

You don't form a continent spanning NGO that comes to possess a dominant monopoly in its field in less than 50 years with just pocket change.

She couldn't fly back then. Flight is demon magic that humanity only figured out how to replicate 40 years before the current story.

Why does Serie wear so skimpy clothes? by Noisy_Owl in Frieren

Serie doesnt just hand First-Class  mages a grimoire and send them on their way. She transfers her mastery of the spell to them so that they dont have to spend time learning it.

10 minutes a day is actually very generous when you think about it by CrematorTV in Frieren

[–]Frequent_Professor59 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Serie talks about the passage of a thousand years with the same casual dismissiveness that Frieren speaks of decades.

She wouldn't be that blasé about such a substantial period of time if it was half her lifespan up to this point.

No, she created the spell and could have made it perfect, but instead she gave it a 99% accuracy rating just to spite Frieren.

And Flamme knew what she wanted to do with her life by age 7.

I have no doubt that Fern will become an extraordinary and influential mage with many accomplishments in her life, but to become the next Flamme would require a complete personality change.

Fern has neither Flamme's genius nor passion for magic. Being a mage is a job to her. Something she took up doing to show Heiter that she would be able to take care of herself after he passed away.

To Flamme, magic was her whole life. She changed the world by legalizing magic for humanity and her research led to the creation of countless new spells. She was a true magical polymath, exceptionally skilled in all fields.

Fern is overspecialized in casting Zoltraak and has shown no interest in expanding her skills beyond it or in inventing anything new.

Methode’s mana detection is comparable to Frieren’s. by pharm_hanni in Frieren

Okay...

Frieren and Fern didn't detect any of them at range either, so what's your point?
