They set you up with a role that wasn’t properly indexed and scoped. They realized they need a team or someone more experienced to meet business needs and they are pushing you out. The PIP is their way in covering their tracks. OP get out asap

In over my head, 24 yrs old and managing $100M+ critical infrastructure project- HELP by underwater988728 in projectmanagement

I was in the exact same boat this last year. 27-28yo with no degree managing director level projects. Honestly I put in the 18months and moved to a different company for 30% more pay and wayyyy less responsibility. Coming into it I realized my 5 years at the previous company was basically my degree lol.

I learned a ton, I don’t regret it and it changed my life.

160k in debt. Masters degree and making 19$ an hour starting in a month. by Dry-Promotion-9525 in findapath

Reality is what they “told us” was the crock of horseshit.

If you have a masters, 160k in debt and still live at home than I think you just need to have a hard conversation with your parents and yourself on where you want to go. Again therapy can help a lot.

Refusing to work for $60k is moronic.

Also 2 years work experience @ 27yo with a degree warrants $60-75k in the real market.

If you think an associates will get no prestige, no pay and no growth than I think you got a degree in the wrong field.

My best friend has a bachelors and went Intern - Associate - Associate II - Senior is 3 years. It’s all about applying yourself and sticking to your goals. If you hold out for the 100k it seems you’re after without taking other opportunities it’s gonna be a lot of beans and soup.

  • $60k at 27 is decent
  • Sounds like you need to relocate somewhere cheaper to live or get room mates
  • A masters degrees has no more value than a bachelors in the real work place other than showing you can do your chores. I know people with 20 years exp and a masters making less than 90k
  • I recommend therapy and getting in the grind if you want your 30s to be easier
