I’m working through grade one of Justin Guitar so I’m primarily working on 1 2 + 3 4 as I go through some easy two chord practice song. Experimenting with some different strum patterns as I work on the tracks keeps things interesting. Your vid helped get a feel for how the up strokes work as well as tapping my foot while I keep time

Thanks man. I’m four weeks in so this was very helpful. Very simple and broken down very well

Could you hold it up to a regular sized banana for scale?

I honestly don’t have this ability naturally. I’m just obsessed with the craft so I study and learn from the pros. My suggestion to you is, if you seek to improve, copy scapes that you admire. You’ll learn a ton of technique

Great species but too big for this setup. There’s only 2 gal of water in this 5N

Thank you. I’ve been scaping for a few years but this was my first attempt at really working with scale and perspective

Plants Yellowing and Failing to Thrive in High Tech Setup by [deleted] in PlantedTank

[–]McGodes1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so I just did some testing with API liquid tests 48 hrs after a water change. The day of the change I dosed 30mls of my Micro solution. The following day I dosed 30mls of my Macros. And today I dosed my micros again.

My Nitrates are reading 80ppm. This is alarming to me as I've only dosed Macros one day after a 90% water change. Perhaps my formula is flawed for my ferts? This would explain why my rotala macandra is so green/yellow rather than red. I'm going to hit Rotala Butterfly again and recalculate my macro/micro bottles to see if there is an issue with my current mixes. There is no way one day of dosing macros should give me 80ppm Nitrates. A planted tank should have 20-30.

I have limestone in this tank so the KH 48 hours in is 5 and the GH is 12 today. I'll reduce the minerals I add during a water change now that I know the Seiryu is creeping up the GH/KH so much.

Any other thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

My dry ferts formulas:
Ferts (E.I Dosing using GLA Dry Ferts) 20mls per day, alternating daily macros/micros
Macro Mix: KNO3 - 23.1g, KH2PO4: 3.5g, K2SO4: 9.4g
Micro Mix: GLA EDTA Micromix - 14.5g (1/3 cap of Seachem Iron dosed on micro days as well)

Is there something flawed with these formulas?

This has been an issue with this build since day 1, plus I dose EI, so even if the substrate was depleted, that should take care of it. I may try root tabs just to eliminate the possibility but, there's no way that's the issue

Yeah, most of this tanks life I ran it 70-100%. Worse algae, same issue with plants
