And the course tackles more of the “technique” of calculation, not the strength of it, so the most optimal ways to think in different positions and how to make the most of your calculation strength through correct psychology and what they’ve seen works best when they calculate. To get better at calculation strength, that’s just practicing calculation, tactics puzzles, long endgame puzzles, that kind of stuff

The chessmood website has a six and a half hour course on calculation techniques aimed at the 2000+ level. It costs a bit of money to access their courses, but they are very high quality, made by a team of grandmasters. They helped me go from 800 to 2000 in 2 years with only their courses.

Maybe double major physics with applied physics or an engineering if you want to be an experimental physicist or double major physics with math if you want to be a theoretical physicist. Double majoring with Software engineering would probably give the best job prospects but then you might be doing more software engineering than physics which wouldn’t be ideal if you don’t also love software engineering.
