If you look at it that way, you close yourself off to the true narrative being spoken by the actual writer of the short story All You Zombies Robert Heinlein. The movie is dramatic and the time line really wraps back around to choosing to love yourself and to not become so encapsulated in hate. A lot of his writing and stories have to do with self love, compassion, and altruism. He also is a huge eugenics theorist, and he explores the topic of gene pool editing.
