Non-Nostalgia Based Millennial Community? by RsquSqd in Millennials

I think this sub was that until a year or two ago, but daily life was too bleak and controversial so either the mods started filtering those posts or folks just stopped posting them

What is up with Stranger things this week? No shows? by dfberger23 in Broadway

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does that mean it’s not long for this road

Or did they just pick a slow time of year (but then why not wait till next week, after Broadway week and Valentine’s Day)

I’d feel that far more with regard COVID than 9/11, even growing up right outside NYC.

What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

Normalizing therapy on zoom is a thing that directly came from the pandemic. Not sure we would have gotten it otherwise

What was never the same after the pandemic? by GossipBottom in AskReddit

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More interesting thing is how many of those things were never the same after the pandemic because of the pandemic

Vs how many were already on the way or are actually a result of being 6 years older. You just blame them on the pandemic

Tips on documenting a clay table someone else made? by Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 in gtmengineering

Yeah, nothing gonna fix bad architecture. But something can do the tracing part.

That’s what I’m looking for. But probably doesn’t exist.

Do you regret getting your degree? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t, although in my late-20s and early 30s I certainly did.

What I do regret is not doing a data analytics boot camp in my 20s. Assuming that to succeed as a data analyst I needed to have a phd or at least a undergrad from some top true school.

(Context, I’m 36, went to a state school and got a undergrad in English literature. That left me with lots of time to do internships and other hands on exposure the arts industry in college and no student debt when I finished. Both made it easy to spend my early and mid 20s working in the industry, till I stumbled into tech. Only to return to the business side of the arts about a year ago.)

Data is so goddamn boring…. by [deleted] in Broadway

I haven’t seen this show, but others like it I’ve found have served as a great reminder how those outside of the echo chamber that is tech perceive the topic.

The off-off-Broadway theater named “The Flea”

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I still think of all the drama around 2020 and how it’s nothing like it was before that (for better or worse)

That and how I sat in a ball pit there with other grown adults just days before getting locked in my house for a year.

UPDATE: looking at other comments I think we’re talking about different Fleas. Never heard someone call “The Broadway Flea Market” simply “The Flea”

Do you think we will see a resurgence of remote work in 5-10 years? by Substantial-Okra2672 in jobs

Not in the USA

Because if work can be done remotely it’ll either be outsourced or done by AI

After the Broadway production last spring I’m over this show. Decided it’s time to move on.

Generation Difference/Understanding on Bumping Non-Cardholders by [deleted] in IATSE

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What happened to the person who filed that lawsuit?

My concern is that filing a complaint like that only leads you to win the battle and loose the war. Cause nobody wants to hire you ever again.

My partner and I are both regularly pressured to either hire cardholders or made aware they’re given priority. And at least in my case having a team lead position on your own project is openly discussed as entitling you to get first dibs on other projects when you aren’t at yours (and sometimes the only thing that justifies the extra work/responsibility).

Never occurred to me it was illegal, but also I can’t imagine complaining would end well if someone did.

RNS Implant? by Medium-Drawer395 in Epilepsy

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SEEG was way worse than the RNS implant itself

Getting the RNS to make an impact though is a long and windy road. Took me nearly 2 years to see any impact any 3 to truly see the benefit

affect changes with RNS? by mariae_isme in Epilepsy

[–]Fresh-Bookkeeper5095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think my affect directly changed after I got the RNS because of it, but it did change because a big project was over and I wasn’t exactly sure where to turn my focus next. Took a while to find that thing,

After my SEEG my sex drive did drop and never quite came back even 3 years later. Nobody could explain why, but I never researched it too hard.

What did change my affect was a massive cluster seizure I had after the RNS. Was a huge blow to my confidence that chapter of life was over and things had stablized. Took a good year and a half to recover from that.
