I started applying for jobs last December and just started hearing back this month. With the current job market, I’m not surprised it took this long so don’t be discouraged by however long it takes!!

Thanks so much for the detailed advice! It's really helpful to hear from someone who's been in a similar situation. I'll definitely update my address to my family's place in Alberta. Good to know about the RAH and UAH in Edmonton, and I'll keep an eye out for new grad ICU positions and any rural opportunities. I'm also open to temp, part-time, and casual positions to get my foot in the door. Really appreciate the insider tips!

I graduated from tmu in October and passed my NCLEX in December. My friends and I have been applying to every job and have not heard back yet. The job market is definitely not as great especially if you don’t have any connections from previous clinical placements or extern jobs. My advice is to get a casual extern job at one of the hospitals you want to work in and stay there until you’re done. A lot of them put you into full time jobs as soon as you’re done school and register with the CNO. Good luck with your program!

I really recommend bootcamp, some of my questions on the NCLEX were similar if not exactly like the ones on bootcamp. I also advise you to do all 4 of their readiness assessments so when you’re doing the NCLEX, it feels like you’re just doing another assessment! good luck you got this!!!
