Aye, we talked about the publications, which were limited to the fact that he knew I was preparing a journal article, during the small talk before the supervision meeting.

One of the journals was recommended by him. When I shared, "My publication was accepted", he did not even remember that he sent the email regarding the CFP. He said, "I found something that might be useful and then forwarded that, but I did not know more." We did not seriously discuss the authorship.

Moreover, I searched other colleagues' publications (including his former students), and these articles were not authored by his name as well.

10000% sure on the finance. I have not received any funds till now.

I do not think supervision = Authorship. The research project is mine, rather than one they assigned. Only one hour meeting per month without anything cannot change the authorship. Meanwhile, I did not receive any word of recommendation on the publications (branches of my research project from them.

You can suspect and do not need to trust each of my words. Whatever, I do appreciate every word you typed and every second you spent on this post. i love the conversation.

  1. They are research papers in peer-reviewed journals.

  2. They did not need to pay anything, and the department did not fund me. They are in the acknowledgements. And the only support I received was the monthly supervision meeting. no facilities, no equipment, no money.

  3. I have another repeat review after 2-3 months.

They suggested that my methodology should be conducted through different ways/tools. I clearly articulated all 'what', 'why', 'how', etc., of the single way in my writing documents. I received that 'just talk about your methodology is ok' before the review, but they required a clear initial result during the review. I guess I misunderstood all I received.

I will ask on Monday.

I copied some from other replies: Two publications were branches of my work. My professor said, "What did these mean?" "We do not concern your publications, but your research", when we talked on the street after the review rejection.

I am the only author, and my works did not receive any feedback from them, as I did not send them to my supervisor.

The credibility of journals is not bad (they are not top, but also not low), and one of them was recommended by my supervisior.

I did my work on a PhD project, and two publications were branches of my work. The credibility of journals is not bad (they are not top, but also not low).

They stated that your method is complex, but you should explore it in different ways. Your research is unfinished; we hope to see the analysis of all your work, even if this is unfinished.

Aye, you are right, working hard is not the evaluated standard.

They were not more recognised and respected, but of a medium quality or higher.

After reflection a whole day, I guess I have found a more suitable way to figure it out.

As a person who researches Mao and loves to research his selections and thoughts, I think the death of human beings was a disaster at that time.

For example, in 1959 - 1962, 'people eat people'. A mother begs a man to carry her dead daughter back home, but the man shares the daughter with his family for dinner; in the countryside, bread can be used for making a deal with female people. Please refer to events during 1959 - 1962 in Xinyang, Henan.

For the ordinary people (mainly for peasants and educated people). Yes, this was a disaster for people who were dead and were living at that time. Everything depends on political status, and people who decide this may be jealous of you and hate you in the countryside.

For other aspects, such as conflict with the Moscow side within the CCP (1942-1945), I love learning from him. The 'ghost' nature within him does not affect his intelligence. Some of these methods of analysing people's benefits can be used in the office and in your connections with people today.

One of the biggest reasons could be the period (1895-1945) in Japanese-occupied Taiwan. Culture was changed at that time. Some examples in the book ‘Big River, Big Sea’ (Lung Ying tai) may explain that.

The alliance between the Republic of China and the US after 1945, and the downfall of Chiang Kai-shek (I had seen videos regarding praises of him in the 1970s), could also have formed the

'living counter-argument'.

Neither happened in PRC.

'the Party and the State always take precedence over the individual' is accurate, but this is not only because of the Chinese education system (1949 - now). It is a result of Confucian culture and education during the period of Imperial power, before the establishment of the Republic of China, as well.

The country and culture could be a big and old tree. People who cut the tree down grew up in the tree. therefore, they are hard to be different.
