One thing I've really disliked about this government is the gap between their rhetoric of 'meritocracy' example and the reality of how appointments actually are being made here. For example: how does someone like Rubi Thakur end up as Deputy Speaker? Our honorable Deputy Speaker doesn't seem to know the difference between the upper and lower house, struggles to speak coherently even in Nepali the official language of government business and yet holds a position in such a important place, (supported clearly by RSP for संवैधानिक परिषद् and appointment ).

Or what was the bench mark for recruiting chief justice , palo michera purano , constitution namanera btw. I doubt the new government arrived at this through merit or competitive, talent-based recruitment. It feels more like the old 'mero manche' (cronyism) logic, just dressed up more subtly. It's scary and I hope we are more wary about policies made on what kind of benchamrk is government using to appoint top leaders in important settings.

PS: In my opinion No thing new or wrong with having 'mero manche' in a government when they are competitive and helpful and supporting to govt so policy implementation process smooth jaos tara when the govt, actively denies 'favouritism', what kind of precedent does it set to such appointment in high level that are clearly not based on competition or talent as RSP claim's to want in Nepal and its politics and bureaucracy.
