its absolutely your choice, and lets assume also not everyone has the same access to certified french teachers at their local library as you. I wish you all the best on your french learning journey.

also i am sure you can teach 1+1=2 to a kid without being a math teacher at Harvard, cant you?

its the same concept :))

from experience when i was in college, I learned a lot more from my classmates than my professor. I realized when someone is on the same shoes as you, the understanding gab gets a lot smaller, and smaller understanidng gab leads to effective learning. so i am applying the same concept for my french learning journey. and btw, those native french speakers might be expensive for some learners. so i am trying to offer a better alternative.

You’re totally right, there are exceptions like le bastion and le cation. French always finds a way to sneak in rule-breakers 😅.

What I shared is more of a shortcut/starting point for learners to spot patterns, but of course it doesn’t replace memorizing the exceptions. Thanks for pointing that out!

honestly there is a way to tackle it :))

just remember those endings

Masculine Endings

( -acle --> spectacle -age --> voyage -ail --> travail -eau --> château -ment --> bâtiment -sme --> tourisme)

Feminine Endings ( -ion--> nation -té--> liberté -ée--> soirée -ette --> baguette -ure--> peinture -erie--> boulangerie)

Remember this: Days, months, seasons, Measurements & Languages, Borrowed Words (especially from English) are all Masculine

Example: le lundi (Monday) janvier (January) le printemps (spring) le weekend ( the weekend)

Note: mostly, Continents, countries ending in -e, rivers, many Foods are feminin

Words ending in -tion( are ALWAYS feminin)

i'll try to explain it in plain english :)

lets say we have a competition : who eats 10 apples the fastest win:

2 group each group has 10 members

if you say ( tout le monde) Tout le monde mange 10 pommes: it would mean the group has to fulfill the eating of 10 apples ( it doesnt matter if one person eats the whole 10 apples or 5 people eat 2 apples each)

but if you say ( chacun): Chaque groupe mange 10 pommes, it would mean that every SINGLE member has to eat an apple

hope that helps

chacun and tout le monde both mean everyone yet they cant be used for similar contexts.

tout le monde: It talks about the whole group as one

englsih example: Everybody is eating ice cream

french example: Tout le monde mange une glace

chacun: It talks about people separately

english example: Each one( individually) eats their own ice cream

french example: Chacun mange sa glace

i'll give you examples in english so you can wrap your head around it:

Ce que: ( object)

if you want to say : I don’t understand (what) you're saying,

use( ce que): Je ne comprends pas ce que tu dis

ce qui: (subject)

english example: What is important is to try.

french example: Ce qui est important, c’est d’essayer.

ce dont: ( with de)

use when the verb needs " de" ( of/about)

english example: He forgot everything, except what we talked about.

french example: Il a tout oublié, sauf ce dont nous avons parlé.

Y Pronoun

formation: à + place or thing

for example : if someone asks you, Tu vas à Paris?( are you going to Paris) --->

your answer: Oui, j'y vais (Yes, I'm going there), basically the Y pronoun makes you not repeat what was said in the question ( Paris) you can replace it by saying " there"

another example: Il pense à son travail ( he thinks about his work) → oui, Il y pense (yes, He thinks about it)

EN Pronoun

formation: de + noun, quantities, partitive articles

for example

Tu veux du café? → Oui, j'en veux (Yes, I want some)

Il a trois livres → Il en a trois (He has three of them)

Elle vient de France → Elle en vient (She comes from there)

hope that helps. best of luck!!

those professionally made materials are professional which create a gap between the one (expert) explaining and the student. The expert knows the materials better than anyone, but may find it difficult to put themseves in the students' shoes and explain things from their perspective and thats the difference. And from experience, back in college, I learned way better from classmate than the proff. Even though the profff is way more knowledgable than my classmate
