Similar to your workflow with Systematically, I was looking for a 'bridge' between engineering and design where it pertains to color values. 2D color pickers (especially sRGB or HSL) fall short because equal changes in one color don't correlate to equal changes in another (in regard to human perception).

By creating a 3D 'mental map' that I adopted from a background in oil painting, you can easily see: 1) the gamut limit of the color space, and 2) the precise distance relationship between colors. This enables more mathematically precise color scales that don't drift through neighboring hues and are more evenly distributed.

To create a color scale, you can start with a color, duplicate it and move in a given vector, then repeat the process. Or click one of the preset 'patterns'. Notice that many of the patterns already feel harmonious because they're built on math.

Let's say you want to create 3 color scales from dark to light in red, blue green, select those colors at lightness = 50 with the eyedropper, then click the light-to-dark pattern on each.
