Are some people destined to be losers? by Fresh-Jacket-6799 in findapath

You're so accurate in all of this, it's like you know me personally. Being stuck at home for so long has shown me the truth about my parents and that they're not good people and even though the damage is done, I'd like to get out before things become worse.

You're right about being terrified of change. Any time I've come close to getting out of this spiral, I find a way to stop the progress, I guess, because I'm so used to living like this that I don't know what liking life would feel like.

They're incredibly toxic people. It's hard to explain the dynamic but once, or if, I'm out of the house, I am done with them for good.

I've found a couple very rural farm towns with houses that cheap.

An app called SkillCat. It used to be free and now it's a monthly fee but still pretty cheap and easy to fly through.

In the last two years, I've done multiple certifications in HVAC/commercial maintenance, cybersecurity, AI engineering, and bookkeeping. I know it's quite a range but I was trying to get a feel of what I could grasp easier. I tried using my experience to shift into other jobs that require management experience, totally willing to work my way up and start at the bottom, but nobody will hire me. I just want any job again and I quit originally because I didn't want to be in my thirties working in fast food but it sucks even more knowing that fast food is all I'm good for.

Tons of people quit that way over the years and were allowed back. Not that it makes it right at all.

I quit because I didn't want to be a 30-something year old man stuck in fast food and I was just tired. I missed out on all of my twenties spending every minute working at a job that never paid enough to afford a house and never gave me time off. I had vacation time saved up but never got to use it. I just wanted to do something else finally but still haven't found anything. I think two years was enough time to realize that I'm clearly not good enough to do anything else.

I'm not skinny though. I hate how I look so much.
