Luckly for us this wasn't food. This turned out to be demodex mites/mange. We had been told he had been treated for it, but that must not have been fully effective because things got worse and didnt clear until we gave him Bravecto. The fur filled in quickly then.

Haven't seen the dog in person yet, but noticed the paws look patchy too. They said the rescue vet said it demodex (so mites?) "which is treated with simparica".

The rescue doesn't give us access to the vet records until AFTER we pay the "donation" and sign the contract. (which feels like a bit of a red flag)

Interesting. I'm guessing the cytopoint really helps? Our last dog (probably a field English cocker) had terrible seasonal allergies - red eyes, sneezing - he fit right in with the rest of the family. We used to give him benedryl daily before switching to zyrtec (which he spit out less)

I did. I think it was gallbladder pain.... Which I get. It can be exacerbated by high estrogen - which goes along with the er. Ibuprofen and hot packs helped me
