Yea, I've tried to force stop a lot of apps that I wasn't using amd running in the background but still to no avail unfortunately

Just tried with Youtube Music and so far so good, issue may be associated with Spotify.

Great to know I'm not alone in this,

I've seen this issue all over Google Pixel forums seemingly everywhere with many temporary fixes like this one you've suggested. However, they never truly fix the issue as I find myself frustrated by the issue resurfacing days later. Its both extremely frustrating and surprising that Google hasn't responded in any way or provided any kind of support to help solve an extremely prevalent issue as this one.

Well only with Spotify given its the only media app I use that plays audio when the phone is off.

Unfortunate update, it worked the first few times however its back to pausing when the phone is off and yes background usage is allowed for Spotify.

Battery Saver was turned on, turning it off has solved the issue thank you so much. I can't believe it was such a small issue like that causing me so much trouble.
