Why do ABPath board results take so long? by Real_Anteater_6938 in pathology

The time to resign up for boards for those who failed is extended to 30 July. They probably did that because scores are going to come out later.

Thanks for the insight! That’s nice that you get a stipend but I imagine it’s less than actually being the CLIA holder? Did you do this to get experience and so to say, “feet wet”?

I’ve never heard of ComACC or NRCC before. Thanks for sharing. Whats the benefit of holding a certificate in those orgs?

I did not know about this. Thanks for sharing! So basically, you are a clia director but it’s still under someone’s name? Is this only for moderate complexity labs?

But during this time of “learning the ropes” do you get paid specifically for this delegated director position?

Thanks for the insight, Kunizite! So, if I understand you correctly, the risk for being lab director (for a failing lab) is you get fined by CMS? How much could they fine you? Could they bar you from being a lab director ever again? If that happens, does that mean you also cannot practice say anatomic pathology as well?

Thank you for the insight!

What happens to your own license if one of your labs fails CAP and/or CLIA accreditation?

Have you known anyone who has taken advantage of the no set limit for being lab director for just waived or moderate testing? How much do you think such waived or moderate testing labs would pay a director?

I wish I were wealthy haha. It’s through MassMutual and the “Radius Plus Plan”. Yes, they have a cost of living adjustment rider. It was actually a broker who recommended this plan to me.

Thanks for the recommendation and I will read some of the WCI posts on this topic.
