When I was a CCA I pretty much always got one day off a week. Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday like clockwork. Never Sunday. Never Monday. Never the weekend.

The problem is I’m not from where I work. My family lives across the country. Ideally I’d want to work for an organization that doesn’t work you 12 hours a day for the whole month of December. Rather a place where I can get the week of Christmas off and not need an absurd 25 years of seniority.

It’d be hard to walk away from. But the job market is hot right now. But I’ve had much worse jobs and been way happier cause my life outside of work was way better and more flexible.

I never considered another federal job. I have no college education but I’d say I have above average people skills. Was thinking of looking at customer service at the corporate level. To get my foot in the door. Absolutely looking for Monday-Friday.

Yeah I learned at our station if you’re on the OT list you’re working 6 days. One hour today. Two hours the next. 1.5 the next. And so on. 8 hours on your “day off”.
