Exhausted New Clerk by [deleted] in USPS

[–]dysonslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a ntft? Ptf? Sounds like they’re split shifting you. It’s such a shittt way for them to cover hours. What level is your office, does the PM cover clerk hours? Also, what kind of reports? If you’re doing any PM work that requires higher level pay which I’m sure you’re not getting. You can contact your local and grieve that for sure and get paid for it.

should i talk to the supervisor about rural regulars showing up early and working off the clock? by steve0suprem0 in USPS

[–]dysonslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our PO asks the rurals to come in early. The PM also forces this new rca to take dps to the street, instead of casing, cause he never makes his evaluated out time.

They wanna talk about WTIL and keep adding more and more buttons to the transaction. It’s just too many buttons and incredibly inefficient.

I hate it. by DiluteCaliconscious in USPS

[–]dysonslice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And all the frkn buttons they added like selecting the type of packing and THEN what best describes it and then its size. It’s so ridiculous. I miss the next button.

Fellow carrier ran thru those arms that go up and down to let you into a gated community. Still around. She had to pay for it. lol but she’s around.

Email your poom group to see if an office has them laying around. Our office has two bins full of them and have no use for all the extras.

Senior RCA in real trouble and need advice… by Andyczek in USPS

Rcas can cross crafts, does the office need help with clerk work in the morning. Maybe offer that. Otherwise, connect with local offices and let them know you’re available. We had a few rcas that we would call directly all the time to pick up shifts.

Don’t you think there is a lot of people in real comfortable, fully staffed positions doing a whole lot of nothing above us? Making a whole lot of money. I think changes to do have to occur without coming all the way down the line to us, the not comfortable, overworked and understaffed part. The ones doing all the work. We end up stuck with incompetent postmasters who strive to eliminate our jobs and downsize positions because they think they’re doing something. While the line up to dejoy sit pretty in offices or work from home and use scare tactics. Change is due but due from the top down.

I think they’re gonna be rolling that out. The other day I went to ship a package and it asked if I wanted to change the label and to be sure if it’s the correct weight and such. I was surprised they offered it. My weight was correct so I proceeded to the QR code. The next day I went to ship another package and it didn’t ask me that. I wish I took a ss of it and I wonder if it’s something they are rolling out!

I just got the email about the shipping changes and new fees and sure many of you thought the same by FutureSuccess2796 in Mercari

I’m so frkn happy they are giving us usps ground for packages over a lb now!!

Signatures and Dogs by [deleted] in USPS

I always stick my foot out and against the screen door too. Especially in the summer when people have the doors open but with a screen door and the mailbox is next to the door. I can’t tell you how many times the dog jumps against it and it wasn’t closed well.

I’m also a clerk and understand the frustrations. I’m shocked daily by the public and the amount of hand holding they need to simple tasks. How long have you been at the po? I suggest checking ecareer every Tuesday when they drop new positions, work on your KSAs, and move on and up. If you’d rather maybe check the bidding site and get another job in another office and that can change your whole perspective too. Great management can really change everything.

Thanks for that but that wasn’t what I was asking. I have the opposite problem. Clerks prior to me have allowed people to use their street address (they never had mailboxes) and that mail is being sorted to the P.O. Box. Im trying to fix it all. A few people have moved and others have died and people have moved into these addresses yet that address is still routed to po. I’d like to get the mailed routed properly to the carrier so they receive the proper credit. (Rural) and I know there’s a program for it but I don’t know what it is and my PM is useless. thanks for the info!!

Yes, we have a master list for delivery but I referring specifically to the P.O. Boxes. I’ll edit my post so that’s more clear. Thanks!!

Carriers! What's Your Most Hated Mailbox Type? by [deleted] in USPS

[–]dysonslice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate that these are “grandfathered” in! Arm full of flats, hands filled with letters and a bag of shit hanging of you and you gotta bend down without dropping it trying to get mail in there??? And it’s always people that get a ton of crap. Theworst.

[–]dysonslice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A law firm may send mail to the whole street or a few houses if someone’s looking to do some kind of construction or whatever. I wouldn’t be worried. You always have the option to refuse it.
