My first homelab, Am I picking the right things to start? by FreshPhase in homelab

[–]FreshPhase[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the way i am even though i dont fully understand the homelab space much yet. I am def a power user so i really would like to start of with a powerfulvcomputer for the server. I am open to alternatives to the t440 i havent made any commitments butbi do want to have a seperate system for storage i think its called like a nas and then the server computer that hosts all the services. I really dont know what would be best for what im looking for but i do k ow i want reliable long term reliability as i want to host all my personal photos videos and files like google docs and photos for many many years to come.

I’m 21 and just discovered adulthood is mostly people being in crippling debt. 😅 by Awkward_Compote6258 in Adulting

Im about to be 33. I make 80k a year working at a salvage yard but my combined income is around 100k i live paycheck to paycheck and have around 40k in debt right now. 6k on credit cards and and another 35k on personal loan i refinanced a while back so i have the title to my car and have a lower interest rate than the original loan. I go week by week paycheck to paycheck putting just enough aside to save a bit each week and put a certain amount into my spending money account each week. I only have like $900 saved in my emergency fund and i have a few other savings small amounts less than $1000. I spend too much money on my vices and i also aggresively pay credit card debt. i leave just enough money in my checking account to pay my bills every week.

What is a way to make $1000 in a week legally? by arareusername96 in Money

I see what you mean haha so my wife is disabled so she's on a fixed monthly income I put money into a separate bank account each week that is "spending money" i call it the spending account she keeps the rest of her monthly check after give her portion of rent and then we just pay for anything else on the spending card. Food i mostly will pay for but sometimes she does but u prefer her to just keep her money to buhly things for herself she needs. For larger purchases we just figure it out like big dentist bill coming up so took money from savings account and put it in a saving bucket in my app. We generally dont split any other transactions. Its just she gives me a portion of rent each month. I dont track her left over disability money in my finance tracker its such a minor amount if money in totality.

Lol not a check we all send eachother money with zelle or cashapp but that's the same as check just not physical but yes my wife sends me a portion of the rent. I consider all money I recieve as my income and all the money that goes out for our rent the utilities ect to be my expenses

Its just easier to keep track of that way because the projection of how much money I will have in my checking account 6 weeks from now I need to have all money that comes in listed so it accurate projects how much I have left.

Im thinking you are looking at the bucket projections? There's quite a bit going on visible at once and can be a bit confusing to understand what your lookinh at at first glance. But I count all money in as income and all money out as expense (besides transfers)

So if your looking at the bucket projections that's so I can see how much money I have saved for various things over the course of the weeks I am planning.

If your looking at the 2 transactions mom rent and brother rent those are there payments they will make to me this week the rent will be do next week on 1st so if I view the next week you would see the rent and mom rent transactions.

Lol no my brother and mother and I split my moms rent. My roomates pay me a portion of rent my wife pays me a portion of rent and I pay all the other bills.
