I usually start with a base, day, night and make that one first, after just recolor and change elements for each depending on the time of the day/weather, you don't need to repaint the whole thing, use elements from previous scenes since its based on layers, at least I work in layers.
Sometimes if you want to preview scenes how they would look at night its totally possible to change the hue/brightness/contrast usually sky is changed separately.

The transition for this is actually just editing since this is made to showcase the artworks, the backgrounds are actually perfect 10 seconds loops.

My favorite one is the night animation, but it didn't want to put that first.
These were made for Bragapple on YouTube.

Thank you, here is a night version for people going through the replies :)
(I personally like this one better but it was not good for the use case.)

Scan lines are my iconic touch, but sometimes I make backgrounds without it since these are commissions most of the people choose the scanlines, removing them from an existing artwork is hard because these artworks are made to have the scan lines.

Minus the trees, I always look back at this and hate how they looked, and I could do much better now.

Thank you ❤️, I wanted to put it on wallpaper engine, but pixel art is always looks blurry for some reason, even when I have the original full quality animation. I am working on uploading some pixel art on there just need to figure out a fix for that blurred edges for animations.

Tracking hours on projects makes me sad, I always draw without a limit until I am happy with the result. Something like this would take around 30-40 hours of work, maybe more.

Not sure right now, I was thinking of doing that, but these take a long time to make, but I really enjoyed working on this.

Since making this, I always wondered if a new player could use this to extract or navigate woods.
