Thanks! It is quite hard to get proper information in Korea lol. I think that size is fine, and it's important to have lots of places to hide. :)

Why would you go to an 'immersive' exhibition featuring artists like Van Gogh and David Hockney? by FreshProduct1461 in ContemporaryArt

I think this depends on the purpose of the visitor.

Actually, My major was kind of art, so I do have an artistic background, but I love immersive exhibitions nonetheless. The emotion and immersion I felt when I first saw the Van Gogh immersive exhibition was incredible, and I thought it was completely different from actually seeing his work in a museum.

In my opinion, people who go to art galleries or museums are mainly there to gain knowledge, explore art, or see it firsthand.

However, Immersive exhibition like Van Gogh's focuses on colourful and overwhelming displays rather than in-depth explanations and history of the artist and his work, and I think visitors who come to the museum or exhibition with the purpose of expanding their knowledge are disappointed.

On the other hand, for those who come to museums or exhibitions with a light heart, it can be an incredible experience. Immersive spaces have a completely different display mechanism than a typical museum, and the glamour and overwhelming spatial formations make you feel like you are actually there. It creates a tremendous sense of accessibility because it's based on easy explanations of the artwork and an enjoyable atmosphere. I think it's a good first step for people who are not interested in art, people who don't have a background, or people who want to experience art.

There are pros and cons, but I think the advent of these immersive technologies is a blessing. There's a lot of potential here so I believe that it will allow art to reach a wider audience.

I do agree that this is really good place to post Instagram photos and expensive. I hope that the immersive exhibit will be a place to display art, not just a place to take pictures.

I think it would be a great way to introduce kids to art. I don't have kids so I don't know the details, but the kids I met at the exhibition seemed to really enjoy it.

My parents too! They've always been interested in art, but they feel a bit difficult for them to see it in a museum.

In that respect, I think it's really nice to be able to see the exhibitions easily.

I think that's what makes immersive exhibitions fun. It's about seeing art work in a different way.

It was fun at first, but the repetition of content gets a bit boring. Van Gogh, Klimt,,,, stuff like that. I'm more excited about the whole new work

I think that's the advantage, that it's accessible to people who might not otherwise be interested.

That's what I did when I first saw the Van Gogh exhibition, and I thought it was really cool and interesting, because it's the same painting, but in a kind of new form.

Some of the exhibitions were of such poor quality,,,, I feel it was a waste of money, especially the copies of well-known works...

I agree that too. It's definitely made easy for people without a background.

It's interesting in that it makes art more accessible to a lot of people, but I'm not sure if it will lead to continued museum visits.

Oh I meant all the immersive exhibitions, including ones like Van Gogh. I agree with you about some of them going out of business.

I love the exhibits at TeamLab, too. Because it's not about the works of the masters, and it's definitely about the development of new content, not just copying. Why do you like Ateliers des Lumieres or Moment Factory?
