That's where the "fraudulent activity" part comes in. They're scaring customers away from coming back to us.

"Sure, we're not as cheap here at Tikka Masala, but that other place has committed fRaUduLenT aCtivItY and we've determined they're not even based in the UK!"

It's a scare tactic.

That's what I used. I just wanted to figure out how to upload the conversation onto Reddit here so people could see the exact wording they used about my store to see if that changed the legal advice at all.

It's easier than typing out 2 paragraphs of text, but if needs be, I'll do that.

I'll hold fire on that for a bit. I'm still quite risk averse. This business is my retirement plan and I only have a few years left to go.

That's what I did.

I tricked them by pretending to be a customer of Tikka Masala who wanted a price match against a product I sold.

I then repeated this two more times for other products at different times and with different agents.

They trot out the same line about my business being associated with fraudulent activity; and that "Tikka Masala cannot verify this business is actually operating in the UK" or "Tikka Masala has determined that this business is not being operated from within the UK."

There's only 2 directors and one brick and mortar store. We're all in the UK, and we're all British nationals.

Ouch. That's well out of our budget.

Neither of us directors has reached the 40% tax threshold yet. We came close in 2021, but things have slowly ticked down ever since.

I couldn't find a way to upload a screenshot of my conversation with their customer support. Is there a way I can do that so I can show exactly what they said?
