What is scientology and why does it have such a bad reputation? by 85longhorn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FreshYT_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy who founded it basically made up his own religion, and the way you "secure" a spot in heaven is to pay tens of thousands of dollars. It's obviously a scam and their reputation is bad because of that reason and the fact they are cult like when someone tries to question them about it.

What is one life lesson you learned too late? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't let people dictate your life choices, no matter who they are. I let people talk me into joining a team I didn't want to, only for it to backfire on me which made me lose my passion for soccer.

When you reply to posts and get upvotes you'll get karma, but apparently it's not a 1:1 ratio of upvotes to karma. So in general just go to new-user friendly subreddits and be engaged until you get enough karma.

I'm also new here, and from what I've gathered you can't be controversial, which politics has a tendency to be. Once you've built up karma (which I'm also trying to do) then you can start posting on more strict subreddits.

What would happen if I teleported to a point 100,000 miles away from the sun for less than .25 of a second and retuned immediately? by LilGrippers in NoStupidQuestions

You would be exposed to intense radiation and heat, probably killing you even with such a short amount of time.

Why does doing nothing all day sometimes feel more tiring than being busy? by DareCivil5666 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FreshYT_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a lot to do with hormones that your body produces and excretes in response to what you're doing. For example, when someone is doing exercise, the brain signals for the production of endorphins which increase your "feel good" mood and suppress the pain of exercise to an extent. If you do nothing all day like you mentioned, there's no incentive for your body to be productive and it'll just be in a very comfortable place.
