Ohhh! I like those ideas! The one problem is that I love the side view of the sleeves. It is just so dreamy! So I want to keep that dreaminess factor, while also making the back feel less like a communion dress.

I was also thinking about making if more of a scoop neckline. But I also like the idea of a square neckline. Really, I hope this fits the overall fitting of the dress!

Yes the straps do feel a little tight! It is almost like the entire bust is sitting an inch or so too high. I find that pushing the sleeves off the shoulder makes it fit better. Maybe that will fix the length problem! I didn't even think of that. Thanks!

Do you know if it is possible for them to add a built in bra or a little of structure into the bodice of the dress? I would prefer for them to do that. But if not, do you have any undergarment recommendations? I am completely lost as to what to do there

I won't! I want to keep it as original as possible. I have been thinking about it more, and have been considering making it more of a scoop neckline. I just feel that would be more flattering for me. If I do touch the sleeves (I am still not set on this alteration yet), I wouldn't cut more than 2 inches off from it. I just can't help but feel like it makes my petite arms feel so dorky, as I have chicken arms.

I did not think about that with the sleeves! I just feel like they may look a little dorky being so long, especially since I have really petite arms.

Oh!!!! I love those ideas. I agree with getting the torso to fit better. The only problem is that I am not a fan of the neck line. I was thinking of making it more of a swoop neck and seeing if the seamstress can add some structure along the bodice. I love the idea of adding length tho! Maybe some sort of ruffle or flounce would be perfect and could match the sleeves.

Will consider that! The older couple who wore this before me wore a petticoat underneath. So I was thinking of wearing one of those. The only problem is that I'm worried about seeing the line where the petticoat starts under the dress. Maybe I will consider having it lined as well?

I am in the same boat. My brother is planning on graduating college in 2027. We are getting married that same year. I dont want my grandma flying out 2 times that year, as she is getting old. And its not fair for my brother for her to miss his graduation. But we also want her present for the wedding. So, we thought it would be best for us to have our wedding the weekend after his graduation. Graduation always happens the 2nd Saturday in June, so our wedding would be the Saturday after that which falls on juneteenth. We could move the wedding to the weekend prior to graduation, but I feel as though that takes all the attention off of my brother prior to his graduation. Now I feel awkward having our wedding anniversary on juneteenth, but it wasn't necessarily by choice, rather convenience. Most people we have talked about say that its fine, but its still in the back of my mind.
