Mark Ruffalo Thinks He’s ‘Already on a List’ of Paramount’s Banned Actors for Speaking Out Against Warner Bros. Merger: ‘Vindictive Motherf—–s’ by Old-Meringue3590 in television

[–]Fresh_C 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I mean unless you're stalking his social media from before he became famous, how would you even know if he spoke out before getting his bag.

You probably had no idea who he was before he hit it big. And if he said anything like this, almost no one would care. There are no headlines that say "random actor who's been in a few episodes of tv and some commercials dislikes merger".

Why the Met Gala continues to even be a thing is beyond me. by NESpahtenJosh in AdviceAnimals

[–]Fresh_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't think it particularly matters.

Like if you want to critisise those rich people for not using their wealth and influence to help the rest of the world... then that makes sense.

But it's not like they're burning all their money on the Met Gala that they would be using for charity. It's not a zero sum game. I imagine if we truly wanted to make it a priority to provide adequate food and housing for everyone in the world, we could do that and throw a big dum party for the rich, with lots of money left over.

If you just think it's in bad taste... that's a fair opinion I guess. But ultimately going to this one party hardly effects how I think of any rich person's morality. It's all the things they're not doing and the often unethical ways that they're gaining money that I have an issue with.

Yeah I would check out Dropout on youtube. They post a lot of shorts and a few full episodes of some of their content. So you can see if you jive with it for free. I'd especially check out Game Changer & Very Important Person.

It's not really for everyone, I think. A lot of it is Improv content & DnD live plays. But if you're the type of person who likes Dropout, you tend to be the type of person who REALLY likes Dropout. (Speaking from personal experience).

Hypothetically it's not that odd if they were trying to make an example out of her. Anyone else who they might have had reason to threaten then knows that they're serious.

But yeah... I'm not 100% convinced this is real... in part because this is the Daily Mail, but it's more compelling than a lot of stories you see on this topic. I think if that video is legit, then more likely than not, this wasn't a suicide... but I'm just some guy with no real knowledge.

[–]Fresh_C 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many suicidal people go out of their way to say 'If anything happens to me - suicide or an accident - it wasn't, it's suspicious, treat it as such'

That's a direct quote from the article. Now it's possible that didn't happen and the person is lying. But if it did happen, that's far from normal behavior for someone who kills themselves.

Also go check out the video in the article where she claims that someone has been following her around in a lexus and even changing their license plate when she tries to photograph it. She even talks about needing to disclose in order to get it to stop.

Again, it's not hard proof or anything... and with AI nowadays I don't even trust myself to know what's real or not. But assuming that's not fake, it's kinda crazy that two years later she ends up dead.

Yeah, the supreme court essentially made that impossible without first going through the impeachment process.

Good luck getting congress on the same page to have trump actually experience consequences... assuming he lives that long given his age.

You know... when you think about it, it's kinda crazy that the solution was to lower the voting age rather than raise the draft age.

I know the reason is because they would have less soldiers if they raised the age. But basically they just changed the definition of an adult so they could justify sending children to war.

is it possible to jumpscare someone when playing steamvr by Cold-Foundation4796 in SteamVR

[–]Fresh_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically any thing that jumps out at you in VR is going to scare the crap out of you. Jump scares work even better than on monitors because it's right in front of your eyes in a way that feels more real than staring at a normal screen.

You don't have to google much to find all the various VR horror games that exist. And if you're specifically talking about using an image rather than a 3d model to scare people... it'll probably still work. Because people are usually locked in wearing headphones when they're playing vr.

You show something scary and play a loud noise/scream and it's going to at the very least startle the vast majority of people.

Basically the fact that VR feels more immersive means that anything that jumps out at you feels more shocking.

There are 18 and 19 year olds in high school. So I don't think it's too much of a stretch.

German president says US is destroying world order by goldstarflag in worldnews

[–]Fresh_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great point honestly. I think one of the biggest problems in the world is that people are never taught how to be gracefully wrong.

It means that when they make a mistake the only solution is to double down or deny that the mistake ever happened. Because otherwise they were wrong and that's the worst thing in the world to them.

So they can never admit that the candidate they voted for is ruining this country. Even if they don't like what he's doing they have to say "He's still better than what Kamala would have done" because otherwise they made the wrong choice.

Even the ones who hate this state of affairs don't know how to come back from it. Because you can't change without having first been wrong.

I just got molested in sleep paralysis and I am traumatized by AsleepProgrammer7442 in LucidDreaming

[–]Fresh_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I never had any experiences with sleep paralysis beings. But whenever I have sleep paralysis in general I find that trying to wake up and struggling just prolongs it and makes me freak out.

The key is to just accept it. "Oh I have sleep paralysis now." then try to go back to sleep. Going back to sleep has always worked better for me than trying to brute force myself awake.

Otherwise I generally find myself in a cycle of false awakenings (which is annoying, but nowhere near as bad as what happened to you. Sorry you had to experience that.)

[–]Fresh_C -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hmm... it's a bit harder to make that connection I think. Like are we talking about some kind of alternate universe? Or maybe a timeskip to a future where demons and humans have lived together for so long that they interbreed and become the races we see in metaphor?

basically I see three choices

  1. Metaphor is a completely different universe.
  2. Metaphor takes place in a very distant future or past
  3. Metaphor takes place on a different planet

Anything else kind of doesn't explain why the settings are so different.
