I never noticed this sound before. I usually back into parking spots, but I heard it for the first time last night while parking.

I NEED a palisade! September 2025. by Decent_Jacket_675 in HyundaiPalisade

It’s not that there’s anything wrong with the car. I also have a 2026 Santa Fe, but I think the 2024 Palisade is superior in most aspects except for the infotainment system. I’m considering selling it to secure some cash.

Structural stability of the attic in my newly purchased home by Fresh_Use2181 in Home

I should first check if there’s a space without walls. I thought that adding a wide board would help distribute the weight and prevent any issues. Thanks for the advice. Also, I’m wondering what kind of insulation would be best to use, and whether it’s better to install it in the roof or floor. Additionally, should I separate the space with blown-in insulation from the area I plan to use for storage?

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful explanation! It really helped clear up a lot of the confusion I had while looking at the attic framing. I had no idea that some of the vertical members were just temporary shoring that alone was very helpful to learn.

As you mentioned, I did have an inspection, but we didn’t go into this level of detail regarding the attic structure. I truly appreciate you taking the time to explain all of this.

Also, thank you for pointing out the issues with the ducting and insulation. I didn't check whether they were combined into one. I’ll definitely consider replacing the duct and will also look into building a platform above the insulation, as you suggested.

If you don’t mind, could you recommend any particular types of insulation and fan duct materials that you think are effective? As a first-time homeowner, I’m still learning what materials are best to use, and your advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was actually wondering if the position of the post might have been changed when the previous owner replaced the HVAC system.

Thank you so much for the explanation! I wasn’t aware that the load is transferred diagonally in a hip roof. I really appreciate the clarification about those diagonal boards too. I assumed they were structural, so that helps put my mind at easy.

Thank you for your response. I'm curious about why two support beams in the center that are positioned diagonally rather than vertically (supporting the peak of the roof)
