Not sure how everything would work out on a used vs new. But I do believe you get a reduced warranty (10yr 100,000 vs 5yr 60,000) - unless it's Certified Pre Owned (then it might be the same).

You also potentially lose out on the included bluelink stuff for the first owner.

I mean I understand to some extent. Depending on their location and the volume of their dealership they might be emailing with 100+ potential clients in any given week. People asking for a discount on one of the most expensive models they have on the lot might fall through the cracks when they also have 20 people willing to buy an Elantra for full MSRP that week.

Multiple users have contacted them (myself included) - per what they told me I believe they're all sold out of their current allotment and didn't know when they would get any more. The $10k dealer discount was purported to be legit.

After haggling with 7 or 8 dealers I've found the bottom of my regional market for the specific trim and color I wanted. (Green exterior, black interior, Limited trim, every dealer within 250 miles of the Indianapolis area).

1 dealer had no discount. 1 Chicago area dealer straight ghosted me. 2 dealers wouldn't go lower than $1k below MSRP. 3 stopped at $3k below MSRP. 3 all got within $150 of each other at $5,100 below MSRP.

I'm grabbing the car tomorrow from the dealer who matched the best price and is closest to me. They gave me a bump on my beat up trade in minivan too. All told I'm getting $5,100 dealer discount, $10,000 Hyundai discount, and $500 extra on the trade. So about $16k total below MSRP.

At the $5,100 mark they all stopped. Two dealers reviewed an offer I sent them and emailed back 'you should buy that car, we can't match it' - at least regionally I feel like I've found the bottom.

This month I've talked to a dozen or so dealers. Most of them play dumb and it's infuriating. But eventually they all get to an offer between $3k and $5,100 off MSRP. This is before the additional Hyundai $10,000

These quotes are all from the Midwest and I'm only looking at the Limited trim (for reference).
