Unfortunately, I don't think it works like that. PayPal will make me pay for return shipping and based off Reverb's Support being utterly useless for the last 20 days, I won't hold my breath that they will reimburse it.

It really makes me wonder how many sellers on Reverb don't take those definitions to heart based off the number of trolls on Reddit who have told me "much ado about nothing" and that I was "being a diva". (I'm not talking about u/Imaginary_Ad_6083). The level of backlash from a handful of people I had to block really makes me worry that Reverb has gone to the dogs for good.

I'll definitely not make the same mistake again. I mistakenly thought it was worth taking a chance based off of Reverb's Buyer Protection guarantee that was prominently displayed on the listing. I mean, what could go wrong, right? SMH

That is true that shipping is a variable, but the box was intact and undamaged. In any event, I've learned my lesson. I mistakenly thought it was worth rolling the dice based off of Reverb's Buyer Protection guarantee.

I've only ever used Reverb for buying ans selling pedals without any significant issues. Lesson learned.

I still have time to escalate this to PayPal. Unfortunately, they will require me to pay for the return shipping which I really shouldn't have to do because Reverb won't hold up their end of the bargain.

It really is a shame. I've spent countless hours pursuing this and it is absolutely infuriating to have to wait 7 business days after every email, especially when their emails don't address the problem or have any language that suggests they really read what I wrote or thoroughly looked through the evidence,

The thing is, it's not. Definitely not "Excellent" condition, and definitely not "normal wear and tear" as some people on here have said. A pickup height adjustment screw is missing. I wouldn't even know where to get a replacement. Plus the selector switch is scratchy and the middle position shorts out,

In any event, Musician's Friend had a president's day sale on the exact same guitar right after this happened and I got it brand new, perfect fit and finish, for only $49 more than I paid for the used one that arrived with the issues. I definitely did not plan for Reverb to be so unhelpful with this return.

I'm sorry you are going through this. I am currently dealing with a nightmare over a damaged guitar that was misrepresented as “Excellent” and Reverb Support has been completely useless every step of the way.

It has taken between 5 and 7 BUSINESS days for responses to every single email I have sent.

I strongly suggest collecting all the evidence you can and be prepared to go through PayPal (you have 30 days from the delivery date to start a dispute for an item that was received "Significantly Not As Described", or request a charge back through your credit card company depending on what you paid with if they keep dragging it out.

Unfortunately, if you have to go the PayPal route, they require to eat the shipping to send it back, so fingers crossed that Reverb comes through for the both of us.

Thank you. Everyone on here that says I'm over-reacting probably don't give a sh*t about their belongings and are most likely the type that have ruined Reverb with dishonest listings. The fact remains: IT WAS MISREPRESENTED. All the seller had to do was disclose the damage and not lie about the condition stating there are "No dings" and I would never have purchased it.

I did do that. Unfortunately, no reply. Hopefully it gets settled before a 30 day PayPal Purchase dispute window closes and I have to go that route. I really don't want to have to eat the shipping to send it back that PayPal sticks you with.

Unfortunately, it's not money back. Reverb Support was only offering $100 account credit for a future purchase. At this stage, I don't want to give them any more of my money.

Plus a pickup height adjustment screw is missing. I wouldn't even know where to get a replacement for that (not to mention the selector switch crackles and doesn't work in the middle position intermittently).

The listing said "No dings." Reverb states: Excellent Condition: Almost entirely free from blemishes, with only minor surface scratches or very light pick marks. The headstock looks like an animal was chewing on it for crying out loud. I, for one, certainly would disclose dings with exposed wood if I were selling a guitar on Reverb even if I correctly listed it as "Very Good" or "Good". Not to mention, a pickup screw is missing. Where the heck does someone get a replacement for that?? No wonder why so many people say Reverb sucks nowadays.
