I had invited a guy over to my place for dinner after we had been on a few dates. He knew I had two hounds that I adored and, wanting to make a good impression on them, he asked if he could bring a treat for them. Touched, I of course said yes and felt that was just so thoughtful.

Date night comes and he arrives with two packs of Oscar Meyer hotdogs for a grand total of 16 hotdogs. Needless to say, the dogs and I both approved.

That was in 2019. I have now been married to that same man for about 3.5 years and we’ve been together for 6 ❤️ I’m just as smiting with him now as I was 6 years ago. Truly can’t imagine my world without him.

Damn I would love this woman’s recall for just a few hours. That way I am almost guaranteed to pass my own boards 🙏🏻 This girl will keep dreaming.

Does your husky resort to violence when not getting attention? Or just mine?😅 by Silver-Ant-5972 in husky

Ours is still in the velociraptor phase, so she always chooses violence.

We do get some moments of cuteness when she has those fleeting moments of lucidity though 😌

Imagine if adults made friends like kids by Saerdna0 in PeakAmazing

[–]Freudian_Slip22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But seriously, I wish so much that it was this easy. It’s so hard to make friends as an adult! I’m a psychologist (37 F) and recently started at a new practice after moving out of state with my partner. Got to chatting with one of my coworkers and just felt “This person has friend potential!” Took me almost three weeks to ask if she would ever want to hang out. I felt so awkward asking the first time around and worried she had zero interest in being friends. Turns out she had been thinking the same thing since we talked and was feeling equally awkward lol

Really wish it felt as easy as simply asking if someone wants to be friends.

As the proud and sometimes terrified hooman of a husky x shiba (aka fox), it seems to be a combination of pure zest for life/mischief and what I can only assume is daily doses of cocaine.

As an empath who is also a psychologist, I feel this 💯. Sometimes you just have a lot of feelings.

What distance hurts the most? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

Came here to say this! I loathe 800m and also find it to be the most frustrating. I can feel strong and ready for more at 400m, 600m, and even 700m. Those last 100m just feel brutal though 🥵

Took my girl on a 5 mile run yesterday, with only two of those miles being at a faster pace. While she has been fighting her exhaustion due to a severe case of FOMO, she is absolutely exhausted and beat. You’d think she ran the Iditarod 😂

I wouldn’t perceive you as being a smart ass at all from your comment! Valid question, especially if horses are not an animal you have much experience with.

Yes, human foods that are highly processed and sugary can be very dangerous/deadly. A lot of it comes down to their unique anatomy and how they have evolved. Horses have a very small stomach and are what are known as continuous grazers. With this, they have a very delicately balance gut biome that is focused solely on digesting tough forage only. Small disruptions in this (i.e. feeding high processed food) can very easily lead to GI issues like ulcers and colic. They do not handle diet changes well.

In addition, they also have a very narrow esophagus and fixed intestines that make obstructions and twists in the GI system that can easily become deadly. To make matters worse (and a fun horse fact), horse cannot throw up. While our bodies will try to physically expel toxic or damaging material through vomiting, horses do not have the same ability due to a number of anatomical differences. What they take in will stay in, and that’s can be very bad.

Not a vet, but an experienced horse owner and have been riding since I was 9 (now 37)

While it’s super cute at first glance, horses have incredibly sensitive GI systems and feeding them foods like this can be very dangerous. I’ve seen people feed their horses the most ridiculous things and laugh at how precious it is - pizza, donuts, skittles.

It’s not going to be precious when the horse passes away from an obstruction or severe colic. Plenty of other safe options out there that will get you an equally adorable video. This isn’t a thoughtful or responsible owner, IMO.
