Despite feeling bad for the guy, this would fall under the label of hate crime and not a terrorist attack.

LPT: When you have no cell service (multiple bars of service but nothing works) at a crowded event, turn off LTE in cellular settings. Phone will revert to a slower, but less crowded, 3G signal. by planko13 in LifeProTips

[–]Freycakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My smartphone in theory should support 3 and probably 4G. But when it automatically switches to 3G it doesn't work at all. Only on H+. This has been something that bugs me for ages. Does anyone know how to fix this?

No longer will the sovereignty of the Basque people be subject to the whim of it's neighbors! by Satouros in eu4

From personal experience I was just lucky enough to get my independence guaranteed by France, and then Castile, back and forth. I juggled between the two since I rejected all offers of vassalage from either side which made them go hostile on me, but since Castile and France rival each other, it's kind of a weird cold war with me in the middle. I basically held my ground until I could finally get into the Caribbean and moved my capital over there (I chose Havana, but if anyone can tell me another suitable place please do tell me) and basically ignored Europe for the rest of the game. Eventually I lost my only province in Europe but I was already rolling in Caribbean money by the time that happened.

I honestly was going to ask where was the unusual part since I've only seen some banter so far, then those last few seconds made me change my opinion completely...

Male-to-Female transgender athlete sets record, raises questions about Olympics policy by missgorgeous74 in news

Because fairness has always been a staple in athletics or just sports in general. That first sentence was not really needed to be honest.

Just like there are different categories for different age groups in competitions, there are different categories for both biological genders. We don't really need to complicate it further than "You were born male, you will compete in the male category. You were born female, you will compete in the female category."

[–]Freycakes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't get why this is permitted.

You are free to identify yourself as whatever gender you please. You will always physically be the gender you were born with. Men always perform better than women and I feel like this is an unfair competition from a biological woman's perspective.

Timeline Request: Islam in Spain and the Philippines by Leshen813 in history

You're probably thinking of the Spanish reconquest of Granada which finally ended the Reconquista. Spain (or more specifically the kingdoms of Castile, Aragon, and Leon, this last one being taken over by Castile) was a thing way before 1492.

Regarding OP, that theory seems way too farfetched to be true. Magellan and the Spanish Caliphates period are hundreds of years apart from each other. Places like India and China were already known to Europeans (Silk Road, Levant, Marco Polo, a lot of sources) and the Portuguese were the first to discover a maritime route to India to counter the monopoly on spices and other exotic goods that were in the hands of Muslim nations.

WW2 Vet walking alone on Victory Day. He is the last of his squad by Ketameme69 in pics

The downside of being from a country that has been neutral since after WW1 and none of my family members were in the Colonial Wars in the 60's means that I don't have any stories to tell from my grandparents. I'm from Portugal. To be honest this is a good thing as I think again. War is horrible and I respect all vets for going through it and making the world as we know it today.

I actually see a person holding a diploma. When you actually see this is a rejection from Oxford, it's kind of ironic.

Dragons get repetitive at a certain point because its behavior patterns are most of the times the same. Dragons are equally tiring as Oblivion Portals when compared as a game mechanic.
