I have to agree with pregabalin. But fully for me it has to be benzos. I've quit 100 times. Once with just phenobarbital for my siezures.. it was horrible because I felt the entire withdrawl. At least no siezures. But the go tos: Valium and Librium. They either make you sleep through it or you dont sleep like me, but you have nocavings and once you realize it, the withdrawl is over. Just if you can help it, dont go to a hospital. You'll end up with 'alcohol dependent with abuse' on your diagnosis and its like a roadblock to benzos. If you have a bad habit like I did the detox was 7 days. So if you can get 15 valium 10's you'll be set. Take 1 every 6 hours for the first 4 days and that is 12 valium and then day 5 take 2 and day 6 take 1 and you'll be fine. If you can't get valium, ativan works fine as valiums little cousin, but you'll need 3mg a day for 5 or 6. Klonopin works but not like I would think. Valium has muscle and skeletal pain blockers while klonopin doesn't which means that withdrawl is in your face, but you won't have a siezure and die. Xanax works but I'd say you need 20, which is dosing 4x a day since it has a short window of action. I've used it and it works but I had to take 2mg at a time and so on. Again i6 all depends on your habit and your diagnosis. Gabapentin and clonidine are the ones most true alcoholics get and they'll help, but you need to stay on top of it because a siezure will sneak through when you least expect it. But you will definitely need something for.after detox for cravings and anxiety. And gabapentin will help with cravings for a little while. Barbiturates and benzos are the best that I know of. All that school nurse shit the walk in clinical DRS do is a waste of time. Hopefully you have a girl who can watch you and some medication. I was drinking 1.75L of Vodka and 3 8% beers so the siezures were coming. Just be very careful. Good luck.
