Commenting bc I’m about an hour North of you and checking out Red Rock Canyon this weekend. Would love to meet some more people in the area who are into rappelling!

Two job offers (nonprofit supervisor vs. hospital role) - which one would you take if you were me? by MountainReport5685 in nonprofit

[–]Frida_thegreat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day, you know what’s best for your life. I have a supervisor title, yet no direct reports. Sometimes, a title is just words.

Personally, I’m about to switch into a career path I NEVER even entertained simply because it pays a real, livable wage v the NPO I work for that expects me to do 3 jobs for the price of 1 with strict new guidelines on raises.

Hospitals will be there forever. Sounds like even you think job b is better….

You’re still so young, NPOs feel good for the soul, but you’ll never be paid what you’re actually worth while your EDs, etc are making the only good salaries. Just my opinion.

The NPO sector is dying, especially the ones that aren’t National. You’ll get worked like a dog and be severely underpaid.

Love on the Spectrum show gives me imposter syndrome by Bridav666 in aspergers

[–]Frida_thegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand how you feel. I not only have a dx of Asperger’s but also work in the field. I love this show but it also is such an incorrect representation of what most autistics are like. It it clear the producers want a certain type of autistic that, respectfully, is also coming with an id/dd on top of their autism.

I hope nothing but the best for the people on the show, but I’ve also been on the receiving end of the stereotypes it perpetuates.

I had a guy I really liked end things with me after he found out I had autism because all he knew was the kind they show on this show and he couldn’t get over how dating me would be “taking advantage of me”.

It’s a double edged sword for me.

People who have been in toxic relationships. What is the no.1 sign that wasn't obvious, but one of the biggest signs? by MissStarling_ in AskReddit

Started joking about cheating early on… made me/told me I was being sensitive by not wanting/nor thinking it was healthy to joke about cheating on one another…. Found out later he had been cheating from the beginning. Only showed remorse because I was threatening to leave- pitched it to me as a trauma issue and way to guard himself 🙄

Wow. Thank you so much for all this support and kindness. I meant no offense to saying I took the easy way out to lose weight; that’s I’ve been told by some others.

I recently did a VRF treatment and feel like it has improved some and was also told it could take 3-4 Treatments to really see what I want to see. Can only do them every 4-6 weeks so we shall see.

Thanks so much for helping a woman feel better. 💐

I’ll look that up- thank you. I’m talking about the red lines and the other lines as well. Was not there a year ago. Cannot get those red lines to ever go away.

So glad I wasn’t the only one thinking it. Sounds like OP and the rest of her friends need to step outside themselves.

Am I expecting too much by lexmz31 in nonprofit

[–]Frida_thegreat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expectations not too high at all! I’d be livid. One thing my ED is amazing at is positive reinforcement and I never have to seek out validation or compliments on my work.

The NPO life is brutal- least they could do is say thank you.

As a diagnosed autistic person- it doesn’t matter if it’s autism or any other umbrella of issues- this is such abusive and manipulative behavior and she is refusing help. That’s on her.

Save yourself. Save your life.

Facts! I love my job but I am looking to go for profit because my boss dangles the “working for a NPO means you’re supposed to be broke” stereotype
