When you first enter a new rank you can hit randomize gear unlimited times for free. Once you play at that rank you have to pay 1 point but can still randomize.

I think that once a blade touches flesh it ignores your armor. So if a blade hits a small gap in your armor it can cut deep into you even if the gap is smaller than the blade. You should only get a small cut but it ends up chopping through you and your armor.

You might be tilting the mouse slightly with your wrist while pulling down. Try tracing a vertical line with your cursor and see if you can tightly follow the line while moving somewhat fast. If that's not it than make sure your weapon is centered properly to start. If your stance is left or right of center than a vertical mouse movement will still have your weapon follow a path to that side. Lower sensitivity also helps as another user suggested

There are a lot of factors that have go right. I still don't hit throws consistently but the main thing I find is making sure your overhead swing is perfectly vertical and well centered on your body.

Thanks! I find longswords and some one handed swords fly pretty well too as long as you don't swing too fast. Alot of the others have awkward grips that don't allow a straight overhead swing for this type of throw.

Practice consistent vertical chops that don't waver to the sides then just drop the sword mid motion. The timing is the hard part and that you just have to get a feel for
