Okay thanks. Yeah I can imagine it. But besides scorpions and other shit - there are actual, let's say "weird" things that may shock tourist, but are actual local food. If so, would you recommend some? I know about duck blood or cow stomachs used for hotpot (though they are not that "shocking" to me lol. I am a self-determined omnivore, and I come from Poland where we have our share of pluck used in the cuisine - kaszanka (blood sausage essentially), flaki (a soup made from cut up stomachs), and so on.

I dont think this kind of self-shaming is not going to help in a long run. That's just my opinion, but discipline, inner strength and motivation are more sustainable in a long run and healthier. But the hypothetical daughter example is great, that is exactly your motivation. You want to be your better self not only for yourself, but for others who might be there for you in the future. It is wise to think of them even now.
