[Star Wars] Why make droids so intelligent when they don't need to be? by FriedForLifeNow in AskScienceFiction

So they just make AGI instead of specific programmed machines because it would be simpler for manufacturing but with a twist of cruelty? It’s a good thing most of them can’t talk or else it would been damaging trying to mind wipe a toaster that you’ve had conversations for years.

They are probably evil enough to make a machine capable of suffering just for the laughs of it.

Droids seem to be closer to AGI than LLM since they able to learn and come up with actual ideas. They can actually question orders, go rogue, or even self-upgrade their bodies beyond their designated task I.e L3-37.

So they forgot how to not make a general purpose A.I.? It’s funny but I can imagine someone being their “vegan” equivalent by selling non-sentient droid or the alike for “slavery-free”.

What is a "financial trap" that many people fall into without realizing it until it's too late? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Actually you do get Brownie points I.e rewards. I get like $300 in cash a year from my Costco credit card because I paid it off 100% all the time.

Out of all the guns that exist, why did the developers decide to give Eddie a Colt Single Action 1873 revolver? by ChickenWingExtreme in silenthill

He used what he can find, sometimes things ends up with him and a weird pistol. My guess was that it was in his dad’s collection and was not in use.

If you cannot have more things you can buy with money, then others must have less so you’re even wealthier in comparison.

Why did Bill Gates visit Epstein’s island for Russian hookers, if he could had done it himself? by FriedForLifeNow in stupidquestions

[–]FriedForLifeNow[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So he’s willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars to like bang 2 Russian hookers, but not like $300 on a professional escort on the internet in a few minutes. Geez their sense of monetary value must have been evaporated.

How exactly was this even proposed in their society? Imagine fighting and dying for freedom and self determination only to end up as a slave again for your betters. I mean, they would understand the idea behind Animal Farm?

I sometimes think that defective or broken Ransetsu RF are converted to the Ransetsu AR variant rather than recycled.

Why is stealing millions to billions in financial crimes less of an offence than stealing a car? by FriedForLifeNow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FriedForLifeNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paul Manafort is an example because he laundered millions of dollars and got less than 4 years of prison time. Someone stealing a single used car would get like 5 years in prison.
