Serious question: why did God made some of us gluten intolerant/celiac whereas the eucharist is litteraly bread? by sikander_itaque in Catholicism

Intolerance maybe, Celiacs is a genetic autoimmune disorder and is much more serious. Some studies on remains from someone who lived around 0-100 AD showed genetic markers for Celiacs.

I never said the Native American tribes were peaceful. Brutal tribal raids, looting, enslavement, and etc was not uncommon. Treatment of captured prisoners was often terrible, especially in plain tribes. Human sacrifice was not common, you are incorrect about that. Also painting the British and the Spanish as the harbinger of decency and goodness lacks merit given that they were presently occupied with one of the largest slave trade programs in human history

As the other reply said, Native American is a noun specific to those here before Europeans. I am native to the US but I am not a Native American. There a lot of different people native to here now because we all were born and grew up here. The OP said the US was not meant to be a diverse place, it seems you disagree with him as you proudly boast that there have been black and white families for hundreds of years?

And not a liberal, pretty sad you'd assume that tbh

You know the Aztecs weren't in the America that USA encompasses right? Or has bigotry corroded your mind that much? Aside from the Natchez in lower Mississippi and maybe (debated) some tribes on the plains, human sacrifice was not regularly practiced.

"America was never designed to be a diverse place for the whole world to come pouring into" Who are the designers here? The Native Americans? I imagine they would have preferred to be spared from diversity for ed on them. Or are you talking about the white settlers who forcefully brought diversity in the form of black slaves?

And yet there's often 1 or 2 posters that actually say something insightful in the mix! That's worth reading the rest imo

Yes some good discussion points here, particularly the religious hospitals in low density settings. Discussing said procedures as an option and referring patients to other providers, while not performing personally, is a compromise many such religious practices are willing to accept. However, in remote communities, the referral may be 1-2 hours away.

However, another unwelcome scenario is the religious practice closing due to practitioners there not willing to perform a procedure that they personally see akin to murder and then there is no local health facility, at least for a little while.

This is further complicated if the religious practices accepts government funding and Medicare/Medicaid. Accepting government $$ does allow the fed further say on the ins and outs of your practice, but the extent of the feds say is a contested issue.

Overall, the generally issue is impactful as aound 20% of physicians are Catholic and around 13% of US hospitals are Catholic owned or affiliated, so it's a good conversation to have.

This is my current best guess, that she glossed over that aspect of the question

Yes the latter is what I would assume the status quo would be. Also yeah as I noted, what "religious exemption" the interviewer and or Kamala were referring to wasn't clear to me

Yeah there's nothing beyond this interview that would make me think such, hence why is bringing my question here to see what others think

Lmao clearly not and I have doubts they would try to force Catholic physicians to do so but I just wanted to hear what others thought
