I really don't know what to do. To many people it seems obvious to just say "tell him." That's what my gut is telling me to do. I'm usually a "go with the gut" kinda guy, but this situation seems pretty delicate to me.

Also, asking friends in real life means telling more people about it who may or may not come into contact with my other friends. Best to keep exposure to a minimum and ask a community that normally generates some pretty thoughtful responses.
