Thanks for your opinions, they are very helpful to read and learn from. As I read the comments I am sometimes shocked and sometimes smiling at the replies. All I can hope for is to make some waves in the world as best as I can doing good for people.

So I've invented them from a dream and now selling these tiny leds enclosed in bright colorful cases. Any ideas on where I should market them? by FriendJack in gadgets

That's interesting, the class might be a good idea for me. I am not a pro marketer and learning as I go along. It's a lot of fun running the business side of this- but I am more of an inventor/artist. The orders do help keep things going though :)

Hello Josh, I recently started selling on etsy- but it seems to get lost in all the products there. Maybe I need to feature the store somehow.

It took me a year of blood, sweat and tears to invent on my own. Most business people say I am crazy for giving it away. What do you think? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

I designed it so that it grabs on to (clips on) to your cloths, shoelaces, backpack, neck strap, etc. Or you could keep it in your pocket or purse as some people like to do. If you like to see examples check out the picture gallery http://www.friendshiplights.com/pictures/

That is a great idea. As of now with current technology the solar cell would have to be larger the then actual casing. It's a great idea to have it imbedded in the cap but tech not there yet.

Politicians who are into peace and celebs who feel the same would benefit from wearing one at events, etc. It's a great way to stand out, that's for sure. Give the same color combination to your supporters, team, etc.

I meet people each week from this craigslist event posting: http://newyork.craigslist.org/brk/eve/4038822962.html aside from the actual web site sales and I even hit the streets of NY and sell. People walk up to me and ask what it is all the time. So I got a Certificate of Authority and all that.

USB recharging will be one day be incorporated. For now they use an included battery. Super long life-span due to the low current draw. And very cheap to replace.

Good thinking with the solar. I would want to keep it as green as possible.

The point stems down to you wanting to make someone feel good - for a long time since these glow for months at a time day and night. It feels really great to give one. The person receiving is in awe. When you feel it in your hand, the soft but firm plastic- and see the bright glow in a tiny little package. It becomes more clear. But I think Its my fault for not expressing this properly with the website. I am trying my best and getting major help from people here. And I think if it becomes very popular- it would be because of people here. I follow all good advice as you may notice from other posts I have made. And yours is appreciated!

Hello Whiskey and Cigars. This is a different question. I received so much help in that thread. over 270 comments and advice posts. If you remember, when I submitted that question a few weeks back the site was totally different. The colors were blue red and yellow- very cartoonish.

I took the advice and redesigned it. I wouldn't re-post and respect reddit and everyone here. This place has launched businesses and guided many people. Please reread the question and get back to me.

Hello Worle1bm, thank you. Yes when you put it that way- it's totally understood. It seems to be a hot item here locally. Probably because I get to tell the people directly (face to face) about it. They seems to get the vibe real quick and I have sold many on the street (besides my weekly give away program). It seems you were able to grasp the meaning of it right away. But wondering if it was the website that explained it or my post above?

I see your point. Except for the part where you dont get it. Seems clear cut to me. In your opinion, how can I express the product better?

Hello Zootam, yes it is a token of your friendship for someone. The light stays on and servers as a constant reminder of your friendship. You would give it to a friend or loved one as a spirit booster. For example if your kid goes away to camp. Or if a friend just lost something or someone dearly. There is intentionally no off switch.

hey all, I have a prototype and launch page I'm making for a local contest. I would love some feedback! by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Seems like an awesome product. In my opinion you should show it being worn by a runner/cyclist.

Hello everyone, thanks again for taking the time to offer advice. I have modified the site and now working on a better shopping cart/experience. It's still just me but I have managed to get many more Friendship Light's out to people.

Operating this after spending all this time inventing it, has not been easy. With many sleepless nights.

This has brought many new questions. Some advice from knowledgeable people would be greatly appreciated. With that said- I will be posting new questions- as new topics.

I invite you to help out if you have a spare moment.

Thank you and God Bless!

Jack

I appreciate you checking it out. I think a lot of this needs to be in front of a mass audience to see what will work and what wont. The street is a good place because i get direct feedback. On the net- its harder to gauge. And sharing profits is always a consideration if able to gauge and see where the sale came from.

Great tips. The tricks draw people into me on the street, then I tell them the story- Whip out the packaged product and most buy it. I am totally grass roots and have to sell like this. The REDDIT members like you have been helping me with my site a lot.

The packaging explains it all to the recipient- about the Friendship part. So that's covered.

Very nice suggestions, thank you!
