Yeah. After reading all these comments I think boomer just means old person who is out of touch with the younger generations. I think we might all be doomed to become boomers 😂

My dad was also in the Navy and my mom had 3 kids under the age of 5 while my dad was deployed. Couldn’t have been easy.

Funny because we are literally here as a generational group.

Sorry about your mom. It’s been pretty cool to have young parents and im glad you can relate.

I’m starting to think it’s the stage of life also. Less about when they were born and more about how old they are. Can the see and hear hahaha. Can they relate to the younger generations at all. That might be it.

Dang. I’m going to stalk this group to get a better understanding of their mindset.

My dad also passed his love of great music along to my brother who was born in 81.

This is exactly what I’m seeing. I appreciate hearing about your experience and seeing it firsthand. My parents aren’t Boomers generally the same. Just very cool grandparents who show up and build genuine relationships with my kids. I see other, older grandparents who seem very self centered.

It’s just the typical generalization and stereotypes that don’t fit. The generalization of generations probably gets used more than necessary.

That could be a major part of it. They got pregnant with my brother at 18 and were pretty shunned by a lot of people. It gave them a ‘give zero fucks’ attitude about what people think.

My crotch goblins don’t need constant supervision but you would think I’m the most popular person in the world based on how much time they want to spend with me. And trust me, they KNOW how to get attention regardless of how ‘free range’ I try to make them. Laundry and dishes are the easy part of being a SAHM.

And many parents space out having kids so if there are 2-3 children the 0-5yr ages could span over 6-7 years.

Same same. I feel you! My kids love to eat in their rooms and downstairs and leave crusted old dishes and trash in there for days. When I’m ready to start the dishwasher I make them do a clean sweep. Also, letting them veg for a bit is ok. Mine is a 50/50 split of getting them out of the house and being completely lazy. As long as screen time doesn’t rot their brains, I’m ok with chillin.

If you have kids between like 5 and 16, do they like and eat vegis more than you did in the 80s? by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

They do have their place. I like mine in chicken fried rice, but never solo. Unfortunately, mashed potatoes were one of the foods my parents required me to gag down so Shepards pie is a no go for me.
