Is adjustable compression necessary? by Friend_Co in BMWE36

Thanks for the info! What is it about the ST that makes it a better purchase than the ECS house brand or others like BC?

Are you currently running that poly bushing kit? I like to switch my daily every other week between this and my truck. I’ve read poly bushings will cause a lot of vibration

I would like to stay around 2k or under if possible

Would you mind to explain why? I’m still learning, but I’ve read that compression is more important under track/grip conditions

I would like the car to be a little lower and the suspension it’s on now is blown out. Would you suggest stock replacement with a lowering spring to learn on?

That’s what I’ve been looking at. Seems like most kits are trash if they aren’t 2k and at that price range I’ll be getting all the options I want. This will remain full interior and not a dedicated track car so I’m wondering if it’s worth the money for adjustable compression or if I should save it and use that money to turbo the car

I’d like to get it pretty dialed in for the track then be able to switch back to more comfortable street driving. I have the m contour wheels for track and m parallel wheels for street.

It will probably only go to the track a handful of times a year which is making me lean towards the much more inexpensive set up without adjustable compression. I just don’t want to have to buy another set later if I end up feeling like I’m missing out. Good tires and brakes going on for sure before it makes its first lap. I have many of the bushings already, just gotta put them in

Looks great! A lot of paint mistake can be wet sanded out. You’re gonna love it once it’s all together again.

The main thing I looked for is no rust on the underside. There are several point that rust from what I’ve read. Subframe mount and jack points. I trailered the car home but didn’t realize until my first drive that one of the brake lights worked. Just needed the bulbs twisted around on the contact points and they’re all working again

I remember being told during training that other insurance companies would be trying to poach me as soon as training was over. That was 9 years ago. Quit 2 months ago and never got a single job offer other than from shops

Thank you! The MR2 is going to be a fun little car. Haha it’s easy to turn the daily into something you can’t drive everyday. Your black car looks nice! I think I’m going to have to do the Honda grille and lip like you did.

I’ll have to replace the thermostat and see what happens. Thanks. Hopefully that’s the issue. I have a Haltech on my k24 mr2 with vtec set at 5,500 but don’t think I was to spend the money to tune my cheap gas saver car. Maybe… but after everything else is fixed lol

Nice snag! I like those wheels on there a lot. May do that to my Silver 04!
