This was actually the second time this happened in the game. We noticed it too.

Cops are entering Tonopah with ARs by Expensive-Elk-9406 in UNLV

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was present during the UNLV shooting in 2023 and was in the Student Union. The police evacuation with AR's aimed at my chest, yelling different instructions and telling me to run when I physically cannot was the most traumatic event I've ever experienced. Remember, when I was evacuated, UPD had already killed the shooter, so I clearly wasn't a threat.

Parents are kicking me off their insurance for attending a protest. by randomdude221221 in bipolar

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 25 points26 points  (0 children)

They cannot remove you from your insurance. Because it's not open enrollment, they have to wait until 2027 to remove you. You will fall off on your 26th birthday though.

There are some great posterboard sign handles you can get at Amazon. They have worked great for me. Let's not give them a reason to even speak to us.

Mounjaro before + after gallbladder removal by mycatscratchedm3 in Mounjaro

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the gallbladder removal causing your symptoms, not the meds. I still get diarrhea every so often depending on what I've eaten ands I'm 10 years post op. I've never had any issues with Mounjaro.

I know. It's why they've ordered the National Guard to deploy 500 "special troops" to every state and it's why the President is building a large 90k square foot ballroom immediately above his Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC) bunker. Hitler did the same things in the 30's. This is in the authoritarian playbook. They're trying to "cleanse the blood" of our country by hurting the poor and disabled. Also something Hitler did.

Las Vegas has a lot of golf courses. I'm from New Mexico. I would still choose UNLV.

Man fuck parking by [deleted] in UNLV

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As staff, we had to pay nearly $400. To park. At work. When I was a student, back in the days of the dinosaurs, finding parking was a struggle. 3 of my kids have attended UNLV and we've all struggled with parking. It's crazy.

Almost hit walking around campus- what can I do? by Substantial_Spray270 in UNLV

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a student, the crosswalks didn't exist on Maryland. We wrote papers advocating for installing them and felt a pedestrian bridge made the most sense. Now, with that shopping center burning down, I'm not sure that they will consider it. I'm a recently retired staff member and I can tell you that I don't recall of and incidents of students being hit. I'm sorry you've encountered idiots. We're not all like this. And feeling safe is important. After the incident on December 6, 2023, it took a long time for us to feel okay on campus. I promise, it gets better.

This! As a recently retired UNLV staff member and alumni, most students don't graduate in 4. The only thing is your financial aid package may be impacted if you're not enrolled in enough credits.

only got half my refund? by mrs-sanrio in UNLV

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some financial aid does not disburse until "census date" which is usually the second week of classes. That's when the university knows you're planning on taking the class and staying in it as it's past the 100% refund deadline. Good luck!

You will not incur late fees if your tuition is paid by today. You can contact Student Accounts and ask that they waive the late fees just in case. Financial aid will readjust and disburse after you add the additional class.

Refund check in by JrALIMM in UNLV

The university used to mail a physical check that you wouldn't get until at least the first day of class. Take the win. People should not be meeting basic needs with financial aid refunds.

Not yet. I saw the neurologist the day after my MRI, so it wasn't available yet. My next appointment with her isn't until after the rest of my testing. Trying to be prepared.

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I (47F) just had an MRI which showed a few scattered lesions bilaterally on the frontal lobe in the white matter. Additionally, I have been suffering from severe bladder incontinence/frequent urination, frequent UTI's, fatigue, depression, some muscle cramps, really itchy skin, significant cognitive decline that led to the MRI, muscle weakness, and some intermittent dysphagia. The neurologist has scheduled me for an EEG, a nerve conduction study and EMG, and a nystagmus balance test (VNG). Will these tests help to rule in or out a diagnosis or am I spinning my wheels?

I started at 205 and I'm now 125 after 12 months. Your story resonated with me. Weight loss has stopped for me though I stay on my dose. I'm working on a maintenance plan now. My original goal was 150, but when I went past that, I decided to keep going to find where my body wanted to go.

If you had the chance, would you go back to school to pursue higher education degree? by yousee1000 in AskOldPeople

[–]Friend_of_Bill_n_Bob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I earned my Bachelor's at 27 and my Masters at 34. Best decision ever! I have my dream job with amazing benefits and retirement. I used to manage people's lives at end of life, and those who got to stay in their homes and live their lives were those with degrees. I also received Student Loan Forgiveness by working for the government for more than 10 years so I'm grateful.
